Yea fair enough, im just of the opinion that if you're not trying for the playoffs, you should be looking to add elite talent.

IMO, if he really wanted a playoff team he'd be looking at the better players in FA anyways so I'm not all that worried. I won't be disappointed if we miss out on McEichel but I'll probably be very upset if we're drafting somewhere around 9th as our best pick.

All that to me sounds like it adds up to 15 more wins. A a great improvement but playoff talk should be on hold.

And I still can't see Murray wanting this team to be 9th to 12 team anyways. Why would you set yourself up with three 1sts only to diminish the best one's value significantly (and the teams future success) by gunning for 9th?

IMO, Meszaros, Staff, Stewart and one of Hodgson/Grigorenko could be moved within the next 6 months.

I can see that we won't be McDavid/Eichel front runners and I think there are other players beyond them that can help us, but if he's not drafting top 7 next year then he better be trading those three 1sts and a prospect or two for someone's who's already considered elite.

This team is very much like Calgary was last year. Problem is other teams got worse which is why IMO they will be drafting somewhere 6-10 for both themselves and the NYI's pick.

Tomorrow when I play Disney Palms I will hate the heat, however I haven't really dealt with it all too much since I work in an ice rink!

Also, I will touch on this since I haven't posted in a few days.

I loved the Gorges trade.

I liked the Gionta signing.

I don't understand the McMuscle signing I thought Deslauriers would play that role.

Meszaros is boom or bust but that's fine by me. If he plays decent he gets moved at the deadline for a good return. If he plays really well he might re-up here.

I am glad Matty Moulson is back as well. Plays the role of Vanek and is much cheaper. Plus he WANTED to be here.

I think the stability of the organization alone puts them out of 30th.

Usually the worst team is the organization that falls apart, example 2013 Sabres.

Peters is a nice guy , but should not be allowed to have an opinion on offer sheeting people .

I think it might be fair to say that our defense is currently more "NHL ready" than it was a yr ago as well.



-Georges & Mezzaros in (Ehrhoff out) gives us more seasoned vets on the back end.

-Myers & Pysyk each got another yr of growth and are legit NHL d-men.

-McCabe & Webber both got a bit more of a taste last season as well (more mins than theyd have gotten elsewhere) and should round out our bottom pair.

-Risto & Zadorov are on the bubble percolating. These are big kids with size & hunger who will likely make a guest appearance at some point this season.
