The aggravation of being turned down by multiple players could have really discouraged Snow and he could have just gone through the motions . He overpaid a little but both are good pick ups. . Our second favorite team this season has to be whoever is playing the Islanders . To me the biggest question to me is Tavares return from the injury . Having 5 knee surgeries myself . It is tough stuff.

Best advise - sell your tickets . You are not going to deal well with the pain involved here to do this right. Detroit used to scout Europe better than everyone else . They used to be a preferred destination for free agents . They do let their young players develop the best in Juniors and the AHL. 2 of those three are not true anymore . Thus the shine is slowly wearing off the Wings.

The part about the way he had this team trying to hold on to one goal leads, and they never could. I hated that about his coaching. Just plain hated it and it almost never worked.

I bet at some point I was probably one of them. I didn't really get into the sabres until my family moved back to NA around 06 which I guess was when he peaked as a coach.

I didn't want to believe that he was to blame since i thought so highly of him coming of that conf final run so I always gave him the benefit of the doubt and blamed ownership for anything i could think of.

Between signing Miller and trading Kesler for roster players I'm not sure they ever intended to rebuild but to retool. A lot of their better core players are still there.

I won't mention the Sabres since I know how some of the "optimists" feel about drafting high (I kid, i kid ) but IMO two teams to watch for top pick are the Canes and Sens.

One is in desperate need of blowing it up and the other just can't find enough quarters under the couch to retain their best players. Ottawa's not that bad on paper now but a slow start may force them to sell of at the deadline and go all in for the top 2 picks.

I think that making the playoffs this year would be the best thing for the "kids" in the organization. All of the prospects have to know that everyone is counting on them to be the answer for this team. That is a lot of pressure. There is no way a bunch of 23-25 year olds are going to win a cup.
