Hall is not going anywhere. He is the last player that Mac will move. That being said, Letang would be a great addition to the Oilers horrific D. |

Anyways, as much as I like both these Dmen, Letang has a step on Dion. This rumor of Letang to Montreal has no merit. The Pitts will never trade him to an Eastern rival. |

No, I'm talking about the already drafted players are still a few years away from their prime. Yakupov, RNH, Nurse, Draisaitl.... |

Letang's trade value last year is the same as Subbans. There is no reason to think his health is any cause for concern at this point. It's not some un-cureable disease, its a stroke. While that is severe, the chances of it happening again are about as good as you and I both being struck by the same bolt of lightning (according to the doctors, that is).
Point is - Letang still has more value than Pacioretty. I just don't think it makes sense for MTL from an on-ice perspective. But I'm happy with Pacioretty and Beaulieu for Letang and a 3rd. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Your crazy to think Letang has more value than Pacioretty. The pens would make that trade in a hearbeat. Its more like Pacioretty for Letang, and a 1st |

if you'd rather have Hedman than Letang, that's fine. but give me the more talented guy any day of the week. - SuperHenderson13
I would take Hedman over Letang in a heartbeat. |

LOL. Big time Joke. Habs would do that right away. |

this would make sense (trading Letang) if they had held on to Niskanen and now wanted to shed salary... but Niskanen signed elsewhere, who else is gonna QB their power play???
This doesn't make much sense at this point.

why people said that penguin ill not trade letang because they loose orpik and niskanen
they got some youngster ready to fill some spot.... Scott Harrington is really good and probably gonna be better in defence then letang is right now...
you got samuelsson who play really good last year when letang was injured, Simon despres, Olli Maata that kid is a futur star... what a player !
Dumoulin is that kind of defenceman that can replace Orpik in the futur with is big size... if your not playing your kid, they will never UPGRADE as NHL player...
you look montreal, they trade Gorges ( that big heart and leadership def that a lot of team want in ther defence core) because they know that kid can fill spot ... Beaulieu Tinordi PAteryn Nygren Bennett Thrower and others..... you save money you play a kid that will cost you around 1 million so that he can gain experience faster then playing AHL level......
i don't see MB moving some youngster to have Letang (big risk with all the injury he have) with the cap space we have after signing subban and Eller....it'S a no brainerr ! he will play is young def no doubt about that !!!! |

How about Letang and Dupuis for Pacioretty and Tinordi. The Pens need that big defenseman to clear the front of the crease and Pacioretty would work well with Malkin or you could put him with Sid and slide Kunitz to Malkin's line. Montreal fans will probably feel this is not enough, but I'm sure you will be asking for just as much ,if not more, for Subban if he is then dealt. |

Of course Montreal would do it. Pittsburgh would be dumb to do it for many reasons. Bourque is nothing more than a third line player. We have too many of those and need a top six guy. There is nothing in Bourque that says he can do that in Pittsburgh. Gilbert is a third D pair guy probably and Beaulieu, as much as I like him, he is essentially a rookie. We have guys like Harrington, Pouliot, Dumoullin and Samuelsson. The last thing we need is another.
The quantity over quality thing doesn't work. I know Letang's warts and there are quite a few concerns. However, he is the best player in this idea by far. |

So trade a young 39 goal scorer who has not even reached his full potential for a 35yo who is on a decline and who's contract is not that great?
Sure Tinordi in the deal if we get Letang, but come on.... |
