A) Gain Size how? That whole extra inch Sutter has while he weighs 20lbs less than Eller.. at you
B) Galchenyuk was the 3rd overall pick a couple drafts ago, hasn't really been given a chance yet, but I bet my house on the fact he will be a 30 goal man within 3 seasons and likely Montreal's first line Centre. So again, At you
C) Get Letang just to move Subban? So trade for a guy who can't skate, shoot, pass, hit, control a game, be a pest or most of all PLAY DEFENSE as good as Subban, just to what? Trade Subban? at you again.
D) Eller also has more offensive upside than Sutter, and is better in his own zone than Sutter so again at you
E) Montreal needs another scoring winger not a lesser Dman or 3rd line centre than the ones they already have so again at you
F) The only place that trade will ever happen is in your own personal copy of NHL 14 so again At you
Better? - Kaden
Nope. I am *assuming* Subban wants out...which may actually be true, he's voiced a number of times he dislikes playing for Therien. So, what do you do then?

Fair enough. But in general, thats what defenseman are being paid now. Niskanen at $5.75...Nikita Nikitin @ $4.5M...So Norris nominee at $7.2 is reasonable. - YouMeAndDupuis9
I agree. Top 2 defensemen with a tract record to prove they can do it will be 7+ a year from now on, easy

Eller is an RFA, so it would assume his contract asking price is more than what Sutter wants.
Otherwise, you can't just wait a year or two if there is a deal on the table now...especially *if* Subban has voiced a desire to get out of MTL since that forces things to happen now. If Subban hasn't asked to get out then you don't bother with getting Letang if you're MTL. - mventres
Subban is the one who filed for Arbitration, keeping any potential Offer Sheets at bay...so I'm pretty sure you lil "dream trade" will never happen...cause if he or Eller wanted out of MTL they wouldn't of done something that kept them from getting at least an offer sheet from another team. |

I don't buy that he wants out, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. |

I don't see Subban going anywhere. If it's a thing between PK and Therrien, it will be the coach that goes, not the superstar. That's just how it works. |

I am just not sure how this trade could even happen. MTL has to first sign Subban and let's assume on the cheap side he's $8.75M and Eller is $2.25M.
MTL will not trade away Subban. That would be a disaster for the team. Also, he's Price's best friend and keeping him happy should be #1 priority....
If Pit were to trade a D man to MTL then it'd be Martin. He's got 1 year left so it helps MTL after this season. |

I've never heard Subban say or even hint he wants to leave and where is all this Subban-therrien beef coming from? Therrien wouldn't of gotten an extension if he was so disliked. I imagine players mention these things in exit interviews |

If anything, I could see a Letang for Pacioretti deal straight up if Mtl has another deal in the works to trade one of their other defensemen. That would give them too much on the back end. Never should have resigned Markov for that kind of money. He's old, injury prone, and isn't all that helpful other than on the PP. Pens could use the winger and Letang could be a dynamic playmaking D if he stops having those momentary lapses of having his head up his ass. They also have a Letang clone in Pouliot once he recovers from shoulder surgery and he's on an entry level contract. Don't see this deal happening though. - Dootrw2000
I'll keep it short by saying Bylsma's system was a killer on defenseman. Letang would be better suited under Therrien (which he looked pretty good in his system as a young pup) or anyone other than Bylsma's. I would bet you would see the same production and half the mistakes. |

Pens would need a superstar d-man in return. they've already lost niskanen orpik and engelland and if they lose letang that defense is gonna be shaky. Erhoff can only make up for so much |

Letang/Fleury for Price/ Subban and let's call it a day!!!
Seriously where does this BS come from? I bet the Pens are loo to trade Letang after letting Niskanen walk away... I could see Martin moving not Letang. When healthy he is a game changer. |

Ok, Gallagher isn't that good. I would trade him for letang 100 percent. He wil be a good 2nd/3rd line winger super pest which IMO every team needs. But he's not going to be a 1st/2nd line type player. |

What trade?
To determine whether a trade should be made requires a knowledge of who or what is going each way! |

This is actually very far from the truth. The Pens could move one of Martin or Letang and let the kids play. It's time to see what these famed defensive prospects are worth. That said, it won't happen. Letang is here to stay. Like it or not.
MTL only does this if they know they can't hold on to Subban. I think they will hold onto him, and even if they don't--he won't be coming to the Pens. |

Anyone that makes the assumption paccioretty would be going back as the return for letang is forgetting that the Habs would have to find someone else to score empty net goals or have a shot bounce off his leg and in, and celebrate like he won the cup. Also, would it not be troublesome to NOT have paccioretty around to review movies a day after a 'massive' concussion??
As for 'gally' being a worthwhile return...who would the Habs rely on to fall all over opposing goalies every other shift?
Surely these trade scenarios won't work! |
