Unless they lose subban or Markov this makes no sense. Letang is a puck mover and Mtl has a ton of those. |

Nope. I am *assuming* Subban wants out...which may actually be true, he's voiced a number of times he dislikes playing for Therien. So, what do you do then? - mventres
But doesn't he love playing in Mtl? He's a rfa so in a trade he won't get a ton for him. |

Anyone that makes the assumption paccioretty would be going back as the return for letang is forgetting that the Habs would have to find someone else to score empty net goals or have a shot bounce off his leg and in, and celebrate like he won the cup. Also, would it not be troublesome to NOT have paccioretty around to review movies a day after a 'massive' concussion??
As for 'gally' being a worthwhile return...who would the Habs rely on to fall all over opposing goalies every other shift?

Letang is not a bad contract... only issue is health... anyway Habs don't need a letang type of D... only if another trade is in the air but until this happen no need to talk about letang |

I wasn't trying to be a Richard. Just the way most people discuss Letang is unfair. Just want to make sure that the bashing has some validity to it. Health is a legitimate concern...but he's a really, really talented hockey player.
And over the next 8 years, he will be better value than Subban once Subban wants $10M - YouMeAndDupuis9

This trade must be involving subban, he wants to much money that isn't going his way in negotiations right now. Unless Montreal gets a guy like Malkin or Kunitz in a trade for pk, we'll be set back another 2 decades from even being close to getting a cup, It'll be a Roy fiasco all over again, that will set us back another 20 years. - conversano1
Relax, they're sending him to Winny for Kane, the Buff and Little. Out O sight! |

Montreal trading for Letang means Subban is out. which i cannot imagine. Letang might be cheaper but he's far less complete a package than PK. wonderful little player but his acquisition would be a bad thing for Montreal. |

Anyone who thinks Letang is overpaid has no idea what contracts are going to look like for elite D-men. Jesus, the corpse of Brooks Orpik signed for 5.5mil AAV. Letang's contract is fine. - Stillson14
One day a year, GMs are allowed to go to the silly place. Many refrain but the more idiotic ones can't help themselves. After, they return to their normal Gm jobs and are back to usual business practices. We know several are idiots just by looking at the contracts they sign or the trades they make. We will not cut them any slack, no sir! |

exactly what you said is completely wrong.
letang's doctors have said that letang suffering another stroke due to his preexisting condition is less than 1% likely to happen.
i would be more worried about patch's injuries than letangs... i know all montreal players are gods but that is just my opinion. - SuperHenderson13
Stop working up a sweat, Montreal isn't even remotely interested in Letang. You guys get to keep him, so be happy. |

Possession means little and numbers add up to nothing. Get to the Eastern finals before looking at stats. |

No Nisk or Oprik. Maata and Poulliot(sp?) I believe are out for a few months with injuries and now they wish to move Letang?
i guess if they want to run with Martin, Bortuzzo, Scuds and Ehrhoff and try to win games 7-6 that would be a smart move.
I know as a Flyers fan this may come across as a slam on to the Pens but I am not trying to do that. I just don't think there really is any merit to this other than stir debate.
Subban will get an increase in pay and Letang stays in Pittsburgh. |

and im happy to keep him. with the real coaching he needs, his 7.5 million will be a bargain. |
