Interesting player, will be fun for Ottawa fans to see what they have in Chaisson. |

In a perfect world toaster would be a 3rd line winger. He's capable of 20-25 goals and 50-60 points. But he can't carry a line or drive the play, he's got very average speed and decent hands. Put him on the power play and plant his big ass in front of the net and he'll bury the garbage. I liked him a lot and wish him the best. Hornqvist is a good comparison. |

See this guy with a centre man like legwand, defensive centerman to help him
Out and not take away from his creativity... |

The more I think about Murray bringing in Legwand to take shifts between Turris and Zibanejad the more positive I get about the coming season. The guy who is going to benefit most by the strong play down the middle will be Karlsson.

I agree - he can score from the slot and be big and tough in front of the net - his puck hunger is tops, or when he gets pushed to the outside he has the vision and hands to be a playmaker and control play down low and in open space.
Really excited to see him play. After watching EK for a couple of games to see where he is at Stone is the player I am most excited about to see in a full 82 game season. He looks like a veteran out there and the best thing about him is the better players he plays with the better he is, or if you want to stick him on the 3rd line to become the guy who distributes the puck and creates zone time he makes the bottom 6 guys better as well.

Zbad having a a guy like Ryan on his right side could really help him ,add to this the potential of having two really good offensive lines .Makes it a worthwhile experiment to continue

my "dream lines" for next year would be, realizing that line 1 and 2 are interchangable:
macarthur - turris - stone
chiasson - zibby - ryan
michalek - legwand - lazar
hoffman - smith - condra/greening/neil |

Great blog Yost. Thank you!
This blog reinforces what I assumed about Chiasson: an NHL forward, but his top six ability is a little bit in question. Brilliant points bringing up that he needs to either drive the play or sustain above average shooting percentages. In a perfect world, I'd like him to be a guy that can sustain above average shooting. We have enough guys that can drive plays. Interesting that he seems to have a "Spezza" quality in his play creativity. To me, unless you are a truly gifted player, that can do more harm than good. It will be an interesting first 20 games to see how he fits in with this squad. We really do need him to become a reliable top 6 player for this team to be in the mix for a playoff spot. |

i think those lines are balanced as hell. each one has a physical presence, players who can drive play, scoring, 2-way play, etc. as long as maclean plays the 4th line as an actual 4th line, i think those are the best and most balanced possible combinations for the forwards currently on the roster....IMO |

Kind of seems like a Greening with more offensive creativity. In a perfect world he might become a great 3rd liner, can play physically but create offensive chances. I agree he might benefit from playing with Zibanejad or Turris as they can carry possession, or Legwand to bail him out defensively while still being capable of putting up good 2nd line point totals.
I guess the thing to take away is that if people we're happy we got rid of Spezza and his drop passes, they're gonna hate Chiasson from reading the SSS blurb lol |

I think this is a team that gets that 7-8 playoff spot and has some assets to add at the deadline.
Reminds me of Murray's old Ducks team that made the Cup finals and 1 game away from the win. He added Stumpy and Rob Neodermeyer and those guys were gold for him. If Ottawa can add a winger who scores big timely goals we could do some damage |

I guess you can also swap Chiasson with Ryan if he isn't comfortable playing LW. If Lazar doesn't stick with the big club after his audition then the team can look something like this.
macarthur-turris-stone
michalek-zibanejad-ryan
hoffman-legwand-chiasson
greening-smith-neil/condra |

Nice effort, but fail. "over you"? You're pretending ottawa was trying to get him to make your point, which is some weak trolling |
