Because of injury mainly

If he's healthy, he'll be a beast. Two compression fractures in only a few years of playing basketball is the worrisome part.

Well he's barely played much basketball and so far in his only college season he couldn't complete.........not the best of starts.

He's an injury prone version of McDavid

Consensus #1 pick if not for the injuries. If McDavid suffered multiple concussions over the next year and still was experiencing symptoms by the draft, where would he be picked?

I didn't doubt you, I had always heard the 15th..........Still doubt he signs here

Yeah, no idea why he would.

And unlike Schultz, I'm not sure he's really worth all the attention he's getting. Slow-footed finesse forward, riding the coat tails of Gaudreau all the way to UFA. Seems dubious.

No idea why a player would sign with the Flyers? How about it's a great organization with a promising young team.

Still, more talented than the average rookie free agent floating around out there.

I wouldn't be expecting him to step in and be a 25 goal scorer off the bat.

If he's looking for a NHL roster spot out of the gates he won't even get that here, not in my humble opinion.

We can't even see to find a spot for Laughton, not sure how they'd find one for him .

I think the Bruins and Panthers are the likely front runners. Home town team and brother's team.

Wouldn't it be tough cap wise for Boston given they still have 2 RFA D-men to sign

Especially not on the right side, unless he thinks he's better than Jake or Simmer or Read.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no if he wanted to come here, I just wouldn't say you make the team out of the gates.

The more I hear about it...sounds like he has his mind set on playing with his brother and that has been his intention.

Would be a nice get for Hextall, but I doubt it.

I have a sneaking suspicion PIT will dangle Crosby-time in his face... but I'd say BOS if I were a betting man. CGY has both of his BC line mates, too.

They can easily find a spot for Laughton, but they seem to be of the mind that he's got to earn the spot, and earn a spot that will enhance his development.

With the additions of guys like Powe, Jones and Gordon, coupled with the re-signing of VandeVelde, I'm thinking more and more Ryan White is penciled in as the 4th line center and that Laughton is going to need to kick the door down to make it.

I think the same would go for Hayes, but since he's an older player and a guy most seem to project as a winger, where there's a need, he might have the inside track.

I think its going to be a rival like Pitt, NJ, Bos, NYR or someone like that. Panthers have an outside shot as well.

Not shocking but wouldn't he have liked to see his brother sign for more than 1 year in Florida

He can only sign a short term deal any how, not sure if it's a one or two year deal, but he's limited as far as term and salary, but can have bonuses added.

Maybe next summer they can sign both brothers to extensions
