Hayes, who was the Hawks’ first-round pick (24thoverall) in the 2010 draft, will become an unrestricted free agent at midnight Saturday if he does not agree to terms. His agent, Robert Murray, said Thursday that it’s “not likely” Hayes will sign with the Hawks by the deadline.

“It’s been a long, thought-out process,” Murray said. “(Kevin) has worked his way through it. (Thursday) is the 14th so I would expect we’ll get to the 16th.”
