In my view it's impossible to choose between Kerr and Leclair, so I won't even try. |

Jackets view Johansson the way we view Giroux. Would you trade Giroux for both Schenns even if he was asking for a lot of money? - PhillySportsGuy
If they really view him like Giroux they would cough up the dough.
They don't view him like Giroux because Giroux is the highest scorer in the league over the past four seasons. |

This and the Jackets don't need Johansson as much as the Flyers need Giroux to be relevant. |

Apparently they already agreed on term. The hard part is over.
They'll get it done. Same thing with Pietro last year. Everyone with their arms up but these guys won't go anywhere.
I think we'll see a couple Hexy negotiations come down to the wire like this in the near future. Coots in particular if they keep using him the way he has, could be a tricky one |

I'm traveling the Iditarod trail by foot asking the villagers if they know where he'll sign. So far, no luck. |

they do view johansen like we view giroux imo. the guy is super talented - boasting 33 goals and 63 points as a 21 y/o. the difference is columbus doesn't have deep pockets and its not the most attractive city for star players to sign long term. |

Mmm. he's as important as Giroux to them, but big difference between breaking the bank on the 2nd contract, versus the third, where you're likely buying many more UFA years. |

Not every GM is willing to cough up a blank check to their star players. Giroux had more leverage too. He was closer to becoming a ufa. |

That chick pitcher they have is a beast. There was also this Japanese pitcher with a complete game 1 hit shutout with 14 strikeouts and 0 walks. They means he faced 19 total batters and struck out 14 of them. Nuts

The Flyers also did sign Giroux to a solid bridge contract, between his early deal and his current contract.
Johansen is already a beast, and he's only going to get better. Massive kid, with speed and skill. Imagine if Holmgren managed to pull off the deal to send both Frick and Frack to 'Lumbus.

Johansen is better than both.
The rumor is that the deal would have seen Voracek, Johansen and two first rounders headed to Philly, plus another prospect. I've heard another rumor that instead of the other prospect, it would have been Mason |
