That's how it starts.... first, sneaking them from the pantry and locking yourself in the bathroom at all hours of the early morning to devour such. This then turns into a nightly ritual and a slow but steady increase in the amount of melba intake.

Suddenly, you find yourself taking more 'sick days' and spend all of your time devoted to finding and buying top notch quality uncut melba treats (having to now deal with and suffering from residual melba treat hangover and withdrawal - accompanied by often physical abuse at the hands of a disgruntled dealer).

Finally, your overwhelming desire for melba toast treat delights and snorfing them down, becomes THE only important thing in your life. The inevitable loss of job and inadvisable arrangement of various substantial supplementary loans to meet your addiction, ultimately ends in bankruptcy.

You are now forced to sell your house, car, wife, prize yak etc - anything to maintain your supply of the toast treats at whatever costs. Ultimately, you end up living in an abandoned shed under the highway, living off of the 600 cases of the toasty delights which you traded your car for at Costco.

And as if all of that wasn't enough, last but not least, you ultimately realize, not only are you extremely addicted to this double-edged treat, but due to the physiology involved and change in your body's chemistry, you have also now become a serious pillow biter :(

He used to read the sports on CKNW, the local news station in Victoria. I found him to be a decent broadcaster, much better than Mark Lee. I wouldn't say that I'll miss him though.
