Luc would have been a beaut'.
Boo to expansion. The talent pool is in the NHL is too thin already. Move Florida to Seattle, and stick with 30 teams, 15 for each conference.
Too much money involved though for greedy owners to turn down. Vegas will be another Florida, Carolina, Phoenix (Arizona, whatever) doomed to fail.

The only way I see Vegas surviving is selling packages to visiting teams fans as a vacation package.
No way they have enough local support. |

Although the cross-marketing possibilities in Vegas are infinite:
Get a 25% discount voucher for a half & half at the Chicken Ranch with every ticket purchase.

Ideally I'd move Florida and Arizona to Seattle and Quebec City(or even a 2nd Toronto team) but that's just me. |

Of course, expansion is also good for the players. It adds another 100 or so jobs to the market each year.
That is NOT A GOOD THING. When Guys like Ben Eager, Greg Zanon are still playing we need to reduce the available roster spots........NOT CREATE MORE

Yay lets water this league down even more. |

How would the expansion draft work? How many players would a team be aloud to protect. |

Need 32 teams to have a equal chance at making the playoffs

Good discussion the other day that eventually NHL will have to ban fighting because of the future lawsuits. With the thugs gone it would mean 4 scoring lines and more opportunities for guys like Gaunce, Fox |

Four more teams in the next 3-4 years? You've got to be kidding me?
Can there be more of a blatant cash grab than this? who gives a sh*t about the on-ice product, which will be watered down even further, as long as the owners get another 100 million to fill their coffers
@#$# you Bettman and the greedy @#$ers that you answer to |

I don't see Vegas working. The NHL should not be the first league to try it there. |

Even two is too many - that's basically another 60 players (in terms of the new teams) to fill in the rosters. We are already at the point where several teams are filed with cast-offs and reclamation projects, and all this will do is further water-down the talent pool and in turn the on-ice product |

Pfft the NHL is just as financially stable as the NFL. |

Nah... FK it...At some point someone has to try that market...It's not like failure would destroy the NHL... |

They have to do it. How fair is it that the East has 8 chances out of 16 to make the playoffs and the West gets 8 chances out of 14? If they get rid of goons for the fourth lines and replace them with scoring chances ,then it won't be less entertaining. |
