I think it's replay chaos... but until it burns you I guess people will be okay with it. - mayorofangrytown
As long as they're consistent, I'm ok with getting burned. Consistency can be a lot to ask for though. |

3. WHO'S MISSING
Left wing Tyrell Goulbourne was supposed to take part, but the 2013 third-round pick will miss camp due to a upper-body injury that occurred during Western Hockey League training camp. |

Right now if they did or intended to blow their whistle a goal call can't change. They are (unbelieveably) giving the war room the opportunity to allow a goal if it's scored after the referee stops play or intended to stop play because they lost sight of the puck. - mayorofangrytown
How about if they train their refs to properly get into position.
Or how to detect when a player is shoved into a goaltender instead of being escorted into him by a defender.
Or when to properly call slashing after a stick breaks because their was a requisite amount of force used as opposed to it breaking because of a light tap to its porcelain china-like quality.
Or getting rid of the automatic extra minutes because a high stick draws blood.

that's what i thought the rule was implying, but it doesn't specifically state that. maybe what's on the site are not the actual rules, nhl.com's explanations? |

Schreiber is amazing. I met him about 15 years ago in Manhattan. He was coming out of a parking garage. I asked him a few questions about Scream. Really nice guy.
Have you ever seen the First 48 on A&E? The guy that did the narrating for that was great. Show has been ruined. Ice T is now the voice of the show, and they have added dramatizations. Show blows now. - PLindbergh31
i think i have, yes. can't think of the narrator though. ice t is ice t. |

Not likely to make the team, seemed a bit miffed they offered him an AHL only deal over the summer |

It implies that they'll discuss it and rule rather than drop back to the blown whistle/intent scenario that they've stuck with in the past. I think this will illicit the first big controversy of the rule changes. It's built for it. |

Very meh on the rule changes. Hate the new tripping rule. See no reason to eliminate spin o rama shootout moves, like the leeway & seeming end of intent to blow, but lot of gray there |

If a defender dives (like on a breakaway) and trips the offensive player, it is a penalty regardless of whether the defender touched the puck first.

Well, let's face it. It's been trending that way.
Not a fan of it by any means, but I can't say I'm surprised. |

I dont really like it either. It basically makes the defenseman a spectator if he's trailing the play. |

Does this mean shots that miss the net and go out of play will result in an offensive zone face-off? Even if it doesn't go off of a defender? |

Every summer they feel the need to fix this, tweak that...and then they don't enforce half of them following the preseason because it comes to light that they were horsepoop to begin with.
I don't mind the post-icing faceoff rule, nor the new diving guidelines, but I am curious to see how they play out.
