See I just come in here and Richard around, more so in the off season when it's just the same poop all the time.

I'll say my piece, then just ignore the same discussion that has been happening for 4, say, days in a row.

I'm sure people have picked up on this

- Giroux_Is_God

I try to ignore it, but some days it's beyond me

the trouble is, I'm off Mondays and I'm usually doing computer based training for work-we have these courses that we can complete to get a 1 or 2 % pay bump. So I wander in and get tied up.

Happens during lulls at work, too. I'm doing a lot of training right now, so it's basically demonstrate and wait for questions, then verify the work. My boss told me I was getting too involved in helping the slower guys-in essence doing the job for them-and told me to basically wander off until they ask for help

My wife's job requires us to live in our current county. I'm OK with 60-70 minutes drive time, but the one opening I was asked to apply for was a good 90-100 minutes, in good traffic.

That's too much every day. I could see me hating work after a short while doing that. Problem here is, it's a limited area. Guys get supervisory or training positions here and only promotions to upper management or death see them leave.

- Jsaquella

anything near 90 minutes isn't worth it you come home tired and stiff from the drive and you lose a lot of time in the day. i missed watching a lot of live flyers games because of that commute never doing it again

STOP BEING SO HELPFUL

Yeah see I doubt I'll ever have a computer job. We'll see though.

Honey jack now, 3 rocks and a finger of water. Simple, but one of my favorites.

The only good thing about the commute is, they were willing to allow me to stay on the clock for half of it, so if I had a 90 minute drive each way, I'd get 90 mins of OT per day.

Plus it'd be a company vehicle, and one day per week I would have had a different area to go to, so I might be near home, or nearer to home, as a field trainer. The other 4 days would pretty much suck, tho

Simple is good. I'm sipping a Yuengling, and eating some gourmet pretzels with mustard sauce. It's glorious.

90% of the stuff I do on a computer is training or some other side aspect of the job. I'm on a tablet when I'm doing the actual work for my job

Can't go wrong with a yuengling. Probably my favorite "every place has this" beer, ya know?

My mom is a medical writer. I currently work for her. Some parts I like and some parts I hate. The money is good though.

I let my wife choose were we moved and it was a failure. We moved to 67 miles from my office which I was in 2-3 days a week. Had to drive down the Pike from Berks (never 422) and go through valley forge and down the expwy to town and over the bridge to about 5 miles past the Ben. Ended up staying overnight at cheap motels to do the 2 days in and sometime after there were issues with other "professional" guests (not the truckers and service workers) I started going back and forth for the days in. That didnt last long and we moved back to just outside the city in Montco. I was on the road a day or two (minimum 100-160 miles round trip to get anything done and home office a day or two mixing it up. To the office, min 90 mins each way and up at 4:30 am to drive in out by 5:50 Am, it was a disaster, there are not enough words.

You will lose too much of your life in the car

The funny thing was one of the last times I stayed at the motel a "pro" was next door. I complained to the front desk as she was loud just yapping (but doing nothing) and they called her or texted her on her cell. Guess she was a regular

It was like a bad Eddie Murphy movie, before leaving around 12:45 Am she started singing at 12;15 AM put on the boom box and was singing ' I'M GOING TO DO IT ALL NIGHT, ALL NIGHT" Think Eddie Murphy singing Roxanne from 48 hours as a comparison. Twilight zone kind of stuff....

Interesting.

On a related note, I currently am being taught by 2 of my friendz' dads. Both of which are teaching their respective sons.

That is awkward. I had the opportunity of taking an Econ class that my friends dad taught. I decided not to. My friend said his dad would have hooked me up and given me an A if i gave any effort at all.

That is a nightmare. Jesus. I would have left the motel and demanded my money back.

Before I ended up down here at the Shore, I was living near Collingswood. I got a good job, but it was up in North/central NJ, near Staten Island. My wife and I were talking about getting hitched, and the job, despite the good cash and bennies, just started to eat up all our energy.

Driving to Collingswood was about 70 minutes, but driving here was a good couple hours-about 140 miles, mostly along the Garden St Parkway-and it was a killer.

But she had been here for years and was established with a good job, and there were good opportunities for me, as well. Now I have a 5-10 minute drive to the office, most days travel no more than 25-30 miles from my house and when the summer ends, we're a lot less hectic and a lot more peaceful

The biggest issue I have living here is that it's a fairly long drive to get to a mall or Best Buy type store. No more 10 minute drives to get new clothes or electronics, unless I want to hit WalMart

Actually the only thing that sucks is less Flyers games in person. Used to be a quick drive over the bridge and in...now, it's an hour and a half if I beat the traffic out.

It's good, but it's definitely not a chugging beer.

I was hoping to grab another couple/few 4 packs of Festina Pesche. I missed the big craft brewer convention at the Ferry. Couple buddies went and loved it-basically a ferry trip to Delaware while beer tasting, with music and Bar-BQ

Meh. Technicalities at that point.

It's only a pain in the ass when we have to do Christmas shopping and back to school stuff. But we make a day of it, have a nice big lunch and usually plan it with cousins to give the kids a last hurrah before school

It's tart, but it's a wheat, brewed with peaches. It's a unique taste. My buddy said it's an IPA mixed with a cider. Not everyone's cup of beer, but I enjoyed it as a summer ale.

If you're in Wildwood anytime soon, they might still have it at Goodnight Irene's on Pacific.
