Add in the fact that 8 are D, one is a goalie, and one is Sestito and we should have two young guys on the team this year.

Here's a first Oilers Flames and Canucks all having a decent conversation

The Trolling on this site has sure fallen off in most cases except for a few.

Well hopefully one of the three franchises other than the Flames or Canucks eventually become serious contenders, that way the success can lead to arrogance and between that and the Jealousy from the other 2, things can return to normal.

It's only pre season

Come mid October the hate will be back ...for now I'm just happy to be having actual hockey talk

I make my fair share of comments on here that piss off Nucks fans but it's usually not an attempt to troll as much as just an opinion that is far from popular

With Powerplay time I think 14-18 shouldn't be a problem for him. Making the jump to the pros is a huge shock for prospects in regards to the workload.

I think with hunter you have to remember there is a huge difference between pre season and reg season ...some of his goals just wouldn't happen against nhl defense and goaltending ...he is looking better than a lot of other Canuck forwards right now but come November he may struggle to find any space out there ...I think he gets his 9 games and than goes to comets to work more with playing against men and not boys

I'll be choked if Sestito takes their place. I can't see it though.

To be honest a lot of my hate for the Canucks disappeared on Ryan Smyth night in Edmonton. Such a tremendous show of class by the team that I almost forgot about that Piece of sh1t Kassian and his idiotic stick to Gagners face. Now that I think of it, I'm sure that bumhole will reinvigorate my hate at some point before the All-Star game.

It was a class act ,something we learnt from Iggy bringing the Flames back on the ice for Linden.

We forget sometimes it's a game.

Linden
Ryan Smith
Iggy

All class world players. Any team in the world would love a guy like that to lead them.

Totally. I like those sort of tributes, especially for non-Hall of Famers like Smyth and Linden, those are the players that real Hockey People respect and appreciate.

Nonis said the this week on the Team 1040 I tried to get Linden to come to the Leafs but that Canucks logo is tattooed to his chest.

All three players love the cities they played

I can't see them dumping Sestito because of what is seen as a need for an enforcer. Without cutting him or trading Hansen or someone else, there doesn't seem to be enough room for more than one of Horvat, Shink or Jensen to make team and even that will be a stretch.

Was at the Jays tonight - they can play pretty well when nothing is on the line!

No need for an enforcer at all. Dorestt will be just fine. He can drop the gloves when the time comes and provide more solid 2 way play when he isn't required to.
The top teams in the league have a more balanced attack and don't sacrifice a position to a player who only knows how to fight.

Hope you're right. Need five cuts. I can see Ericcson, O'Reilly as for sure. There will be a defenseman. Two more forwards would need to be moved to give them all a spot.

And who should those be? They are at 28 and need to get to 23. Ericsson and O'Reilly. Sestito. Weber.

I hope it's Horvat or shinkaruk. Jensen will be a call up when someone is injured.

Miss the playoffs and no one hates you anymore. I remember a couple of years ago before we played St. Louis and a reporter asked Hitchcock about the Canuck's reputation as the most hated team in the league. He basically said, if they want to be liked, they should stop winning.

I wish that Gillis hadn't taken his advice...

Too true. I can't think of a single Oiler that I hate, or even dislike, really. For the Oilers to move forward, that has got to change.
