Also our big tough Alex Edler took Hertl out last year.

With John Scott there will he? Ask Phil Kessel if you get a choice to fight?

That's why you need a Dorsett to take runs at Kopitar and DD first.

As long as rule 46.1 exists, why not have a tough guy or two.

Will he be on the ice to protect them? He's kinda useless otherwise with the instigator rule in place, guys like Jordan Nolan can just turtle after the fact and continue to take runs at the Sedins again the next game(which he's already done).
- Nucker101

You're entitled to your opinion I just hope you're not one of the hypocrite pu$$ies complaining about the flames having their 6 fighters and new comers involved in fight practices. It would actually be funny to see the sedins and Vrbata line up against Mcgratten, westgarth, Bollig, Engelland and Brookbank

I'll Esplen things up a bit for you.

Canucks will win the Pacific division, Oilers finish dead last, Flames get relegated to the AHL because they are so bad. Corrado wins the Norris, Shinkaruk the Calder, Lack the Vezina (Miller gets traded mid season), Bieksa the Hart and the ghost of Kesler (Bonino) the Conn Smythe.

- 1970vintage

Shouldn't we get relegated to the eastern conference first ...and the worst in the east to the AHL ??

I wasn't until the Jordan Nolan incident...seemed like he quit being a wussy and became a warrior for this team. And this year he is needed probably way more than last year.

No poop. What's with people these days? I know the league is younger this decade, but it used to be players hit their prime at 27-29. Nowadays if your not hitting your stride at 22 your a piece of crap.

If all 5 of those guys are in the lineup together there better be some serious injuries throughout the lineup

I would pay money to see that. The Sedins kick the crap out of McGratten. Burrows jumps over the boards and bites three players

Nope, I love that they have so many scrubs. That's an easy 2 points. And yes it would, the puck would never leave the Flames Zone and Hartley would be fired the next day.

As I said, in the NHL today you can turtle and draw a PP for your team. We saw it first hand with Nolan-Sestito last year.

As a 13th forward at best, but I don't think L.A. really cares if he's in or not. And I doubt Calgary will.

I don't like it, but when you have a goon coming after you and you're not a fighter it only makes sense to do it.

IMO the worst guys to play against are the ones who will throw your star players off of their game by agitating them and/or taking runs at them, only fight when they feel like it, and can actually play double digit minutes.

Speaking of. How many fights do we see in the playoffs? And how many "tough guys" are even dressed or play more than 5 minutes?

I was referring to our PP against the Bruins in 2011 when the B's were slapping the twins around and we couldn't capitalize on the PP.

I agree ...that's when you want someone on your team to destroy Marchand ...and I'm not talking tom tostiitos ...that's the beauty of playing against the small agitator ...it allows more players the chance to take care of him

I know, I was just reminded about another point when you mentioned the playoffs. Tough guys who can't play are useless then.

You've still got 82 important games to play before you get in the playoffs, don't forget that!!

PS: with a different set of rules I might add.

I agree, but IMO I see this team finishing with more points without Sestito than with. The Don Cherry fans can disagree with me all they want, but I believe in team toughness not carrying a tough guy on the 4th line.

The Bruins were just fine with letting Shawn Thornton walk and din't sign a tough guy to replace him. LA used to have Westgarth and let him walk. Nolan isn't even a legit tough guy for them. Dwight King can actually play in the top 9.
