I don't like it, but when you have a goon coming after you and you're not a fighter it only makes sense to do it.

IMO the worst guys to play against are the ones who will throw your star players off of their game by agitating them and/or taking runs at them, only fight when they feel like it, and can actually play double digit minutes.

I agree, but IMO I see this team finishing with more points without Sestito than with. The Don Cherry fans can disagree with me all they want, but I believe in team toughness not carrying a tough guy on the 4th line.

The Bruins were just fine with letting Shawn Thornton walk and din't sign a tough guy to replace him. LA used to have Westgarth and let him walk. Nolan isn't even a legit tough guy for them. Dwight King can actually play in the top 9.

Put it this way, I'd rather see Matthias Richardson Dorsett as our fourth line than the alternative.

I was referring to our PP against the Bruins in 2011 when the B's were slapping the twins around and we couldn't capitalize on the PP.

Danny got penalized too for being a punching bag.

Guys, you just can't say you want more skill on the team and then suggest that Sestito belongs in the lineup. He's at best a 13th forward. We need a 4th line that can play meaningful minutes, or else the twins will get too much ice time again. Hansen is twice the player Sestito is and should have that 4th line spot.

See my edit. I'm sorry but having Sestito skate around like a clueless slug on the ice for 5 minutes doesn't make this team tough.

There's the key; play with some grit, play well defensively and contribute on offence.

I've been on the same page as you guys, musing on Sestito in my new blog while you've been discussing it here.

Move on over to the new thread, and have your say in today's poll:

Doubt it. He is a WD / JB / TL guy. Sestito, Matthias would sit before Dorsett IMO.

It's definitely possible although, most likely we will see a rotation of guys on the 4th. I still find it strange the way cuts have been made and do expect a trade now.

Whether it is Dorsett or Matthias sitting in the box, a legit NHLer will be there if no trades are made which I guess is a nice feeling but seems like a waste of resources. If say Jensen had been sent down and Jeffrey or Archibald remained up it would be clearer who would be in the pressbox.

My money is on a RW as we are saturated with Vrbata, Kassian, Burrows(kinda), Hansen, Vey(depends) and Dorsett. I doubt Burrows has enough value at this point to be traded and Kassian has too much potential to be moved. Vrbata, Vey and Dorsett are all new so Hansen is the only option IMO.

Matthias or Higgins could be moved but I see Higgins as too valuable and Matthias is still young and very versatile for his cap hit.

I would pay money to see that. The Sedins kick the crap out of McGratten. Burrows jumps over the boards and bites three players

funny

...since westgarth is trying out with the oilers. I have no idea what that other guys talking about though

Nothing wrong with having a decent NHL player who could even be on the third line on some teams as your 12/13th forward, injuries will happen and being able to roll 4 lines is a great advantage.
