How does the canuck core have anything to do with the Oilers losing year after year after year with such a talented group of players?
My point; when will all this talent translate into success on the ice and in the standings? - bloatedmosquito
Vancouver keeps loosing. Sure they aren't in the top-5 picks, but they kept loosing.
I'm actually not even going to bother responding to this as it's been beaten to death. |

Ok if were talking about getting used to the system then its about 83 games that the group has been together trying to get used to the system... - Oilfan19
I'm talking about any system the oilers have employed. There's no cohesion there at all. I don't know if that's the coaching staff fault or the players themselves. |

It was one game, they dominated and looked like a good team for 40 minutes, got sloppy in the 3rd. Don't worry they will kick the canucks asses tomorrow night and you can talk about how the canucks have always been screwed by the refs and the nhl. |

Yes, I've heard it all before from you guys. Canucks trending down and the Oil trending up.
I haven't seen any evidence of it yet. |

Remember this reply to one of your Avs threads? Sept 27
"I see the Avs missing the playoffs this year. They lost a lot of depth in key positions, and I fear it might be too early to give Mckinnon so much responsibility. I see him kind of faltering this year.
Goaltending I see as a huge issue for the Avs this year. Berra has a ton of heart and possesses that gritty Swiss underdog mentality, but I really don't see him amounting to much. Varmalov was very good last year, but I feel that was due to an overachieving defensive corps that will be further exposed with the addition of Brad Stuart who is clearly on a steady decline in his abilities.
How long before the relationship between Ryan O'Reilly and the management goes south again? He will be earning 6.2 million after this year, a steep number for a 64 point producing natural center playing the wing, especially if he fails to duplicate the modest success he had last year. I see him walking after his contract expires. I know all sides are happy now, but you can't help but wonder how much longer O'Reilly wants to play 2nd fiddle to the likes of Duchesne, Mckinnon, and Landeskog.
This year will be a couple steps backward for the Avs as much as it pains me to say it. One can only hope that Sakic will eventually find the right mix of players to return this organization to glory, I just don't think they are there yet".
Still too early to tell what will happen but it sure isn't looking very good at the moment. |

Do I have to start posting images of oiler player positioning. It's unbelievable. Players with this type of talent and experience should not be caught in these types of situations.
Sloppy doesn't start to describe it. |

I don't know, I would not want to score if I had to hear that every time I did. - Dangles13
MacT: Hey champ, what can I do for you?
Any Oiler player: Yeah, Hey boss. I just want to ask for a trade.
MacT: Why's that?
Player: Well, I don't want to score a goal here.
MacT; I don't follow.
Player: The goal music is just so terrible, nobody wants to hear it! |

Why do you guys get so butt hurt over a bit of trash talking? |

I have no problem with trash talking, but the same old poop every time gets old. The problem this team has is defense and last night the goaltending was shaky. The kids played a decent game last night. Forgetful 3rd period. World isn't ending. Most nights if they play a game with the effort of the first 40 they will be in a position to win. |
