Attitude!

Great start to the season. Preds have certainly been entertaining and a lot of fun to watch these first two games.

Having a goal scored and being on the low side of the scoreboard doesn't seem to bother them - or the fans. If that attitude continues it will be good for the team longterm, especially with the inevitable bumps that are part of a long season.

Up-tempo play on both sides of the puck. Defense and heads-up play is a standout so far. Poke checks, blocked shots, all over the puck, good positioning for the most part, hustle and desire.

Nice for you to mention the GC video “I'm Not Gonna Miss You". Didn't even realize his condition was that bad. Quite the song too - lyrics and the tune, especially considering.

I hate that the Titans and Commodores are struggling right now, and looking bad doing it, but it does present the Preds with an opportunity to capture even more of the sports market. Right now they're a breath of fresh air for this market.

One thing that has me pumped is that I think this team is going to be exciting to watch on most nights, whether they win or lose. I couldn't say that in the past, especially after a loss. This team is playing exciting, up-tempo hockey, and it's great to watch. My entertainment dollars are well spent at this point.

This is a fun team to watch right now. I'm sure there will be some bad stretches along the way - as the top couple of lines try to work into a consistent rhythm. I think they will find it, but lets not pretend the Preds have tons of offensive fire-power. Still the energy and increased puck possession & shots on goal at least give the fans something fun to watch - no matter how the team fares this season.

And as for strengths, Nashville has one of the top (if not the best) defense corps in the entire NHL. With that defense plus Pekka in net - Laviolette can turn the guys loose a little more. That means guys that didn't produce under Trotz can possibly score a few more goals and take pressure off of Neal, Smith, and Ribeiro to be the main scorers.

On another positive note, I like what I've seen out of Forsberg so far. And even Jarnkrok for that matter. If those guys continue to develop - GMDP should be arrested for highway robbery. Getting those two guys for Erat & Legwand on expiring contracts? It's borderline ridiculous.
