I will never forget that goal of his from last year where he undressed our defense, walked in and scored a highlight reel goal. Good stuff. But would have been better against a team other than my Lightning.

So what if he has played 300 games in the NHL he's still just 24 years old. Kronwall couldn't stay healthy early on in his career either so maybe the Wings should have gotten rid of him too. His individual corsi for the last 3 years is top 30 in the league and better than any of the Wings defensemen. Really +/-? for a player on a poop team is your big negative?

Howard does blow in shootouts. Wings also need guys that can score...they have a lot of players that don't do well in shootouts. They should trade for TJ Oshie to get them a couple of shootout goals or give the rest of them some pointers.

Too bad Mrazek isn't the backup they could throw him in to replace Howard for shootouts.
