How good was Couturier against Crosby and Malkin? He played 6:03 against Malkin and the Flyers generated as many shot attempts in that time as the Penguins did, according to NaturalStatTrick.com. He played 9:01 against Crosby, and though the Penguins attempted more shots than the Flyers in that span, the Flyers outscored Pittsburgh by a 2-0 margin.
All three of the goals Couturier factored into came with Malkin on the ice.

Can't wait to stay there. Looks fabulous except for the one review on Yelp.
"I would give this place 1 star. The room wasn't that nice, but it's impossible to tell who was responsible for it. The owners? The staff? The previous occupant? I wouldn't recommend this to anyone."

Bill,
Grossmann seems to be skating a bit better this year. He is obviously never going to be a mobile defenseman. He has obviously had some injury issues but is the perceived marginal increase in his skating (IMO) due to summer rehab, a new work out regime, etc.? He doesn't seem to be lumbering around the ice as much as last year. - mrspeeed
Grossmann had nagging injuries last year and had the worst month of his entire NHL career in January but was very solid -- in tandem with Streit -- after the Olympics last year. He was also good in the Rangers series until the ankle injury.
Nick is what he is. We all know his strengths and limitations. What I will say is that Berube has a lot of faith in him and that ultimately is what matters more than the circular debates about him.

ill give you the first four from an objective standpoint. but its not like talbot had a metamorphosis upon signing with the flyers. he was always a pretty good dude |

Most fans on here take one or two guys, focus on him and nitpick these players to death. I watch every game and watch for every limitation as if they're suddenly going to disappear. You can expect this of Brayden Schenn but Nicolas Grossmann and Luke Schenn are what they are and very good within their strong areas. Accept this because they're not going to change...or continue to drive yourself crazy. |

I've slowly come around on the Grossmann front. I thought he did have a good tail end of the year last season before his injury as well. He had a great game last night.
That being said, I still don't believe having him and Luke Schenn in your starting six is really the best combination. I've preached patience over and over but time is just about up for Luke. He should be a healthy scratch again once Coburn comes back. |

Great game to watch. I just wish the Flyers could play like that every night. Other than the opening few minutes, that's as close to a complete game as they've played so far this season.
Was good to see a few guys net their first goals of the season (Read & Umberger). Read's goal just reminded me how much of a finisher he is. Has that guy ever scored a garbage goal? All of his goals seem to be of the finesse/sniper variety. What a boss.
At this point, I'm not sure how you bench Nick Schultz after how well he has played lately. If I'm Berube and I'm not dressing seven D-men, I think LSchenn needs to sit.
Andrew MacDonald had a really good game last night, I thought. Looked much more confident with the puck than prior games and I thought he defended well too. He didn't register anything on the score sheet, but I thought his game was solid from start to finish |

I wonder if that worked against them, the coach appeared to spend a ton of time getting the matchups he wanted (i.e. away from Coots/Read line)...I just wonder if they focused too much on that... |

I know. The Flyers will soon revert back to form. For some reason the Pens just bring out the best in Couts and the Flyers. |

Does Malkin have a little Sean Couturier Halloween display on his front yard? He is definitely the stuff of Geno's nightmares. |

How does that work, anyway?
When two teams are both hungry, or when neither team is hungry, is it like "Timecop," when Jean-Claude Van Damme killed Ron Silver by making the same objects occupy the same spot at the same time? Are we risking certain death if both teams' hunger is perfectly balanced at any point? - AllInForFlyers

i still think form for the flyers are a team on the cusp of either making or missing the playoffs. theyll be in the mix. and the pens will likely win the division. but none of that means a thing when the teams play. |
