I agree we would need that kind of massive overpayment to lose our best defenseman. Especially if the asking prices that Ek is reporting are true. Those are two prospects that would make me do the deal. The Ducks on the other hand, it depends on how much they believe they can win now |

I love Myers and always have but of what benefit to the Ducks would it be to give up a package that includes a 20 year old Dman (H Lindholm) who might be a better player outright than Myers? If that's what T Murray is demanding, the Ducks and Sabres are incompatible as trade partners. |

Larsson for Grigorenko - blizzzard
Grigorenko is not going anywhere . Him and Armia are building chemistry in the AHL . Look out for that duo in the NHL in a few years.

ana built their team on developing prospects and they dont have to trade for a high risk high reward player in myers. buff will get a good haul for him, but not that good. |

If he goes the return has to be amazing . I can't figure out why people get so offended by that fact .

I dont disagree with that. I do think that Lindholm and Ritchie is ridiculous. I think Myers fits a need for the Ducks. But I feel both of those young players are part of theyre bigger picture. Who knows what the actual value is for Myers among the rest of the league. I agree it should be pretty high.
Could the Ducks make something happen without either of those two kids? I have no idea. I feel other teams have young guys they could afford to move more than Anaheim can. Unless something could be worked out for maybe Etem++ or Palmieri ++.
But by any means do I think Myers will come cheap. I just think that either of those two youngsters mentioned from Anaheim are off limits. If that kills all talks. Then I imagine all talks are dead until Buffalo gets a feel from the rest of the league. But I feel Buffalo is just listening from a point of strength right now. They dont have, or need to move him. I like that stance from a Buffalo perspective. |

eyes of the sabres fans yes, but I think that random quote about Myers being a 3rd pairing guy isn't that far off, I'm sure thats its floated around in the league management based on some of the rumoured offers
Myers has the potential to be legit number 1 guy with a fresh start, but right now from all the proposals that have been floating around (Detroit) seems like teams aren't willing to pay for his potential and are offering face value package of him being a 2nd pairing guy.
Eventually someone is going to budge either over paying for him now (might be even in the future if he progressing with a fresh start) or the Sabres are going to lower their stance.
I don't see too many teams ready to gut a portion of their team or prospect pool, you plug one hole with Myers and will open up a huge new one with over spending |

Or the Sabres will keep him.
They don't have to trade him, you know.

yes there is that possibility, but if the rumours don't stop, or the open talk about being shopped, I can see him asking for a trade out.
I know players say they don't pay attention to that sort of stuff, but eventually that has to wear down on a guy if he is being asked about it on a weekly basis in media scrums if the rumours get more active.
Almost every team in the league would love to add a guy like Myers, just can't see too many really willing to pay to get him. |

Then he stays . No one has a problem with that . Sorry you are not closely monitoring his play this year or noticing his minutes logged . He is getting better every game . He will not be given away to make another team better . He is getting better every game here . And that is not just the observation of a Sabres fan base . Or multiple GM's would not be calling . He is not on the market ! The press needs something to talk about early in the season . And Myer's happens to be one of their favorite topics . Where there is smoke there is not always fire. Maybe it is dry ice or a fog machine ?

If Myers gets traded, it will be to a western confrence team. I know Detroit has interest, but unless the give up Mantha which they wont, they wont get him. Why the West? Because the west is an arms race, look at Dallas and Anaheim this summer with the big trades to catch up to Chicago and LA. I beleive it will happen, and it will be an overpayment. 2 high end prospects most likely, becuase the first round picks would be in the high 20s. If they package someone like Stafford or Stewart, they'll get even more. |

It seems like he's been getting better every game since two season's ago. How sh!tty did he have to start this trend to not be a god yet?
No, but in all seriousness, I admire what he's been able to do so far by only going -2 despite playing the minutes he has for such a garbage team (offense not intended). You're FAR better off keeping the guy even if he's "just" a 2nd pairing Dman when all's said and done. |

I love how every week there is a new blog explaining why a team needs Tyler Myers, yet you seem to really want the Sabres to get rid of him... |

Since Nolan has been his coach . the transformation really has started . He finally has a coach that is letting him play to his strengths rather than trying to make him something he is not.

Not sure what his strength is.
He looks ok out there, seems to be good on the rush, but what is his productivity?
He has played the most of any player (24.5 minutes per game)
He has also far more minutes that anyone on the powerplay - a total of 30.
Yet he has no points this year |
