Admittingly I'd have to look over the roster this season but I can't think of a guy I'm truly interested in. Not even Jeff Skinner.

I dont even think they would get good value on Skinner. He's signed Long term and often injured.

Tlusty and Sekera are about all they have at the NHL level thats worth much. There is no market for Ward.

What if Emery's hip didnt give out on him? I'm convinced that we would've won the Cup in 2010, and all your logic and reason and poop will never convince me otherwise. Ever.
- Doc_Sarcasm

I agree. But a dude with a degenerative hip isn't really a what if. Talking more about if they had made a different trade or draft pick or signing

Damn. I didn't realize that Carolina is still winless. You've gotta think Francis blows up that roster as much as he can this offseason. They have a TON of money tied up in their forwards too.

I'm not a fan of the Staal's. I cant believe Eric has carried an 8.25 million dollar cap hit from 2009 thru 2016. His salary is backloaded too. He's getting paid 9.25 this year and 9.5 next year. Absolutely unreal. As for Jordan. Thats the most unmovable contract in the league(minus guys who had career ending injuries) in my eyes.

Worst team in the league, whether it be due to injury or whatever else

Remember that Carolina fan who came around a few weeks ago who wanted to poke holes in the Flyers? Maybe that guy should have minded his own store a little more closely

Agreed -- you try to give teams the benefit of the doubt, but they're just bad

You can at least see what Buffalo's trying to do. They have some good prospects on defense, and if/when they cash in Myers, they're gonna get something good back

Carolina looks like they're a year or two behind Buffalo. Need to cash in Eric Staal, dump Ward even if they eat salary, and Good Lord, I don't even know what you do after that

Agreed, but the good thing about them is that other than Wideman -- who has been a scratch this year at least once -- their salary cap is in good shape, plus they have a legit top-pair defenseman in Giordano

Carolina's paying a lot of aging guys a lot of money to be brutal, which is always the worst thing in professional sports

Long slow process of sucking ass, and building through the draft. The successful franchises avoid the complete bottoming out.

That's what pissed me off about that guy -- they haven't even made the playoffs since 2009, and they're this awful? WTF are you trolling somebody else for?

That article sums up how I feel about him; he's not ideal because his hands appear to be average, but he does enough other things that the goals and points are coming

He's gonna maybe miss a few chances that some guys might not, but all told, the Flyers could pretty easily do worse. If Giroux and Voracek are getting points, then it's working

Yeah, Francis has a ton of work ahead of him. If he can get value for the Staals it'd go a long way towards fixing things.

He is a better skater then Hartnell by far, and it seems to me he is picking up his physical game and is getting better on the forecheck and mucking along the boards.

Is he a sniper? No, but he is a nice complement to that line.

the speed is there. yeah he might not pot all of the ones a pure finisher might be able to in that spot, but oh well. you make due with the player you have. he can at least keep up with the first line guys, something that for some reason other seemingly more talented players havent been able to do. good defensive awareness and hustle on every play.

He is a lot more physical than he was last year, IMO -- he's a nasty piece of work, sometimes

I believe I'm a different type of Flyers fan. I don't drink the Kool Aid. In our last 4 games we're 4-1-0. Wins are wins but it's okay to be critical of how they get these wins and to be critical of the personnel within reason. On Saturday the top line wasn't very good but they were opportunists. This is why they won. Raffl ended up being one of stars of the game but I don't think it's wrong to feel like he shouldn't be a long term solution on the top line.

I myself do not go against people on here to stir the pot. When I say that I believe Grossmann is a good player within his role and the tools he has to work with, I believe it. I don't expect him to be Shea Weber every night, I expect him to continue working within his strengths. Luke Schenn I believe needs to be paired with the right type of player to be success, like Timonen or MacDonald. I see nothing wrong with this or unreasonable thought. Jake Voracek has been a bright spot this year and many years before but if your gonna play with one of the best playmakers in the league, you better start shooting a little more. Right now Ray Emery is winning and Steve Mason isn't, so Emery has gotta start.

With this said. Raffl had a good game Saturday, I won't take this from him. However, if your gonna play with talents like G and Jake, I sure hope there is production.

yeah, if i had to decide on one, id say duper is. but still. not his strong suit. still think its a fair comparison for the types of players and their respective roles (and how people perceive them in them)
