Good insight, Bill. Babcock is right also. The Red Wings will win 8 out of every 10 games they play like that and the Flyers will lose more often than not if they get out played like they did on Saturday. At this point, they're just treading water. It's just a matter of time until they either sink or swim.

Great blog Bill, they are toast most nights if they play like they did against Detroit. I expect they do something minor before tomorrow (bring up Manning in exchange for Ghost, announce Ghost will play or sign Morris or other older vet). I do not expect a huge trade, this is a poor time to make a trade if expecting equal value. See above

Yeah, the Flyers had no business taking these two points. But they did put themselves in a position to steal those points, so there's something to be said for that, I guess.

Good to see Emery play well. The only downside to that is a(nother) potential goalie controversy.

I was happy they beat Detroit, but after watching the game this morning on the DVR they played a miserable game for about 50 minutes. Those kind of efforts will usually result in a loss 9 times out of 10.

I can see the media now licking their chops if Emery starts tomorrow night. He's played well, but Mason is the goalie for this franchise, and should start playing the lion share of the games. Amazing 8 games in, 3 of their top 4 dmen are out long term. Flyers gonna fly I guess.

In other words, they're just continuing to do what they got away with last year.

Getting out shot 37-17 and out possessed (I believe the wings5v5 Corsi was around 65%) means the Flyers should be thanking their lucky stars.

Mason will ultimately be the starter in terms of play, IMO but you know Panotch, Carchidi, etc. are licking their chops at the idea of another made up goalie issue.

Yep, that's why it's important to not judge the result.

Of course they are. That is why I never read any of the stuff they write. It's a result business and Berube is riding the hot hand. I get it.
