Did Jimmy MCC get a close look at it?

Why, do you want to add groin pull to his list of ailments?

I guess trading a young forward for a young forward would be less risky. But I've seen Schenn play to a high level in the past as a wing (portion of the 2012 playoffs, maybe the best Flyers forward in the Devils series and probably 4th best vs. Pittsburgh). I don't know what's happened since then, as he seems way more timid. I think he just needs more confidence. Let's give him 15-20 games as a LW and see if he can settle in. Took Jeff Carter more than a year to adapt.
- jmatchett383

I am ok with that. I really like Schenn. I just wish he would be more accertive and engaging in games. He is not the greatest fighter but it seems when he is fighting and playing physicall are when he plays best. I don't want to move him if he can start showing up. I think so far Couturier has been very engaged in games and playing more physicall and chippy and it seems like it helps him during the game. Not sure if I explained that well.

PRACTICE UPDATES

* Jakub Voracek returned to practice today after taking a maintenance day on Sunday.

* Ray Emery will be the starter tomorrow night when the Flyers host the Los Angeles Kings. For the second straight day, Emery came out first to work with Jeff Reese. A minute later, Steve Mason joined him. Mason always comes out early. Unless he is starting, Emery typically comes out several minutes after Mason.

* Zac Rinaldo, who missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury, will be back in the lineup tomorrow night in all likelihood. He skated on Chris VandeVelde's line at practice today. Blair Jones, a likely healthy scratch, skated along with Vincent Lecavalier (left foot injury). Lecavalier may be ready to play by Thursday but is not expected to be in the lineup tomorrow night.

These were the Flyers lines:

Michael Raffl - Claude Giroux - Jakub Voracek
Brayden Schenn - Pierre-Edouard Bellemare - Wayne Simmonds
R.J. Umberger - Sean Couturier - Matt Read
Zac Rinaldo - Chris VandeVelde - Jason Akeson

Extra forwards: Vincent Lecavalier (left foot), Blair Jones (healthy)

Nicklas Grossmann - Mark Streit
Michael Del Zotto - Nick Schultz
Shayne Gostisbehere - Luke Schenn

Ray Emery (probable starter for Tuesday)
Steve Mason

Excited to see Ghost tomorrow. Hopefully he gets on the scoresheet. He hasn't really had a chance to tee one up and let the bomb fly. Does LA have a more aggressive or passive PK?

Locked win! Put it in the books now. Actually, they shouldn't even bother playing the game.

What's your definition of doomed? 25th in the league at even strength goal differential above only Winnipeg, Edmonton, Arizona, Buffalo, and Carolina.

The only saving grace is that Mason is well liked and hasn't ever been bad here for an extended period. Plus he doesn't have a huge contract.

So, if Vinny the Cavalier is close to coming back.....who is gonna sit? It ain't gonna be Bellemare, that's for sure.

Blair Jones is already sitting.

I think it's between VDV and Art Ross Akeson at this point.

Excellent read and why a lot of posters had a "negative" perspective heading into the season. They're not going to win often when they play like they did vs Detroit. They still struggle at 5 on 5, still have issues in terms of possessing the puck and driving the game.

Call it effort or call it execution, this team is inconsistent as a whole and in the case of most of the individuals on it. I think they hurt themselves with mistakes and let things snowball. The confidence takes a hit, the execution and effort aren't evident and they need a supreme effort from a Mason or Emery to get going.

There are still a load of good pieces, and I feel Hextall has the right plan and approach to the future. That's why I'm ok taking some lumps now, as the team gets retooled and the foundation gets build.

Also, when someone is not under contract for the following year, "pre-emptively" is an odd word to use to describe signing.
