Why is Skinner not playing on the first line? Balance their offense? - deadpoulet
You'd imagine so. As it is they don't have much of a 2nd line with a rookie (Lindholm) at RW and Nash at center. |

I heard that if a player doesn't play more then 40 games in his first year you don't lose a year of control before UFA status. If the canucks play him i hope they keep him under 40. Keep him in the A as long as possible and send him to WJC if possible. - Mungo
I think you are mistaken, 9 games max per season to preserve contract. 40 games to preserve rookie status. |

Skinner and Lindholm work well together.
Skinner and E. Staal have never worked well together.
That Tlusty-E.Staal-Semin line was dominant together during the lockout season. |

Nothing that a spicey Bloody Mary & a thick jazz cigarette can't cure. |

Canucks future lineup from what I see(probably next year or 2)
Offence:
Sedin-Sedin-Vrabata
Higgins-Bonino-Borrows
Shinkaruk-Horvat-Jensen
Dorsett/Kassian-Vey-Gaunce/McCann
Defence:
Hamhuis-Bieksa
Tanev-Stanton
Corrado-Subban
Goaltenders:
Miller
Lack/Markstrom
Trade Edler, Matthias, RIchardson, Hansen, Sbisa, for first round pick, and trade Weber for the better Weber (Shea Weber) haha jk I doubt that would happen - BeatStriker
I'd expect a future perennial Norris contender like Corrado to be on the first line within a couple of years.
Oh wow, I just noticed that little blurb below the goaltenders! Not going to touch that at all. It's a good day in Toronto. We escaped a potential disaster with Doug Ford as our mayor - Life is good.

(frank) me too.
Can proudly say I never clicked on one though . In fact, I stopped reading his blogs entirely after awhile and didn't even bother coming to this site some weeks. If he was still blogging for the Canucks I'd probably be over at HF for good by now. |

Vey totally screams gritty fourth line centre. And he should dominate the face off circle. |

you are not doing it right. Here are the directions
1. Pour the bloody Mary over infected area.
2. Use Celery Stick provided to spread evenly
3. Use the cigarette to light the warts on fire
4. Splash tobasco to sooth and prevent future growth. |

no rookie status is 25 games.
here's some info from wiki.... so who knows if it's right
Unrestricted free agency[edit]
On July 1 of a given year, the following players become unrestricted free agents, free to sign with any team without compensation to the former team.
Group 3 free agents: Players who have reached age 27, or have 7 accrued years of NHL experience, whose contracts have expired
Group 6 free agents (must be elected by the player): Players who have reached age 25, who have 3 accrued years of professional experience (that is, beyond junior or collegiate hockey), and whose contracts have expired, but have played less than:
80 NHL games played for forwards and defensemen.
28 NHL games played for goaltenders.
Players whose contracts have been bought out by their former team.
Players who do not meet either Group 3 or Group 6 requirements, but who have not been tendered a contract offer by the Monday after the NHL Entry Draft or June 25 (whichever is later). All other players are Group 2 restricted free agents. (See the next section.)
For purposes of the above, an accrued year is generally defined as having been on an NHL roster for 40 games in a season (30 for goaltenders). |

I know this is Tuesday but to be cereal for a sec....
I don't think Willie is a coach who views it as:
3rd line = Shutdown
4th line = grit and truculence
I think he prefers speed and skill throughout. |
