I'd like to see Vinny back in the line up, but having him sit for these two road games might be the better option.

They never seem to beat Tampa.

I thought on the whole, Akeson had a good game last night. It's got to be frustrating for a player that one play can apparently ruin all of the other good things they do in a game. At least that appears to be how Berube sees it.

Feel like it's last season all over again with Vinny. Gets off to a decent start, and then wham!, injured. I want Vinny out there too, but I am really liking what I'm seeing out of PEB at 2nd line C.

I expect Mason to bounce back. I don't think it's been as bas as the stats show. He has been hung out to dry on quite a few occasions and that last start against Chicago he just got bombarded with shots. Out of those 4 goals, only the last one I fault him for.

I can wait until he's fired.

I'm fine with him as the Flyers coach, but I certainly have similar criticisms that others have voiced. I don't get why he would put faith in Akeson during the playoffs last year where he seemed to excel on a line with Coots and Read and then decide he is somehow no longer capable.

Or maybe there is this idea that Umberger can't play on the 4th line because he makes too much money.

Whatever it is, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I'm not saying Akeson has more than earned a spot in the top 9, but I'm not sure Umberger has either, really

I'm not a big fan. Haven't been but I'll give him the season. See what happens. I just always get the feeling there's nothing much going on there. He's like the ham sandwich of coaches. I'm not sure that's enough at the NHL level.

I wonder what the big picture is in his mind. In mine it involves him coming back well-rested, going on a streaky ppg run of 20 odd games so we can unload him on someone somewhere.

Umberger is a far better defensive player who can skate and has size. He fits right now with Couturier when they have to shutdown top line like last night. While Akeson played ok in the playoffs he isn't big, that great a skater and not great in his own zone. Why would i want him continuly going against the other teams top lines.
