I have to feel for Tom Sestito a little bit. He did what he was asked to do last night, but I'd expect he'll be the player pulled from the lineup to make room for Horvat tonight.

Should be a five gamer...but I'm sure the league will drop it down to 1-2 games cause he aint a Canuck. All the requirements are there...head is the PPC...left his feet...lunged upwards...etc etc etc...

Thanks Carol, good blog like usual, although I don't agree that Sestito did what was asked of him. He probably should of been called for a charge on his last hit on Perron and I believe his last shift of the game.

WD obviously doesn't trust Sestito not to take a stupid penalty and as much as it was nice to see Tom throwing his weight around its the same story from him ( 1 game in limited minutes I know), he doesn't have the foot speed or the game sense to stay with the game.

Regardless, it will be fun to see Horvat in the big show and I hope he can prove he is ready but won't be upset if he isn't.

I have to think that Ference deserves 4 games minimum if we compare to the Burrows hit, but I expect he will get 2.

A little off topic but I also realized that the last 3 Canuck suspensions (Hansen 1, Edler 3, Burrows 3) have not been deemed penalties on the ice and an official has been right in front of the hit every time. I wonder if the officials opinion comes into play when making a suspension?

He quietly puts up points and is a very effective 2 way player although doesn't use his size enough. I think he will be an NHLer as 4th liner and likely a winger. All that said he has played less than 10 pro games so time will tell.

Schroeder unfortunately never got much of a chance in Van and when he did he just couldn't score enough for a so called small offensive player. He is a smart player who can play at both ends and really pass the puck, I won't be surprised if he makes it back up to the NHL with another organization.
