What is going on? Last Sunday we loose 1 to 0 and the remaining fans on this site are on a melt down because the Hawks have not looked good. Now the Hawks played their best all around game for all three periods winning 5 to 0 and only a few posts about the game. If you are female doging when they loose than you should also give koodos to the team when they play great. Come on folks... Let's hear it!

Well you can't post about benching Shaw or lacking of some speedy D-man or about Richards being Zus-2 after such a game

I've noticed suggested line combos after Sharp's injury don't include Smith on that top line.

I liked his effort there, went hard to the net and drew a defender back for the tap in goal Kaner had. Always plays good on the boards, keeping the puck in, playing right into Towes and Kane's possession game. I think he was a great fit.

Towes - Kane - Smith
Hossa - Richards - Shaw
Saad - Kruger - Versteeg
bickell - Regin - Morin

interchange Saad, Morin, Versteeg as seen fit. I really want to see T - K - S for another game or two

Smith played IMO one of his best games of the season getting that opportunity. Give it to a guy who wants it and plays like he wants it EVERY NIGHT.

Any reason why? Lack of effort? Sloppy play?

I know a lot of people have been complaining about Steeger and Brad ''Dont' Call Me Mike'' Richards, but I honestly think the crappy start has a lot more to do with than those 2 guys...They will be needed to make a deep run, but this average to bad start isn't really their fault.

And if this is the Steeger they get at that cap hit....then he is worth every penny and even more...Also Richards is really starting to look a little better, despite his goals and whatever points he is putting up(not sure, trying not to look at his stats when I judge him) he is starting to look more comfortable and actually making stuff happen when he is on the ice..His pass to Saad yesterday was a thing of beauty, too bad Saader and Morin couldn't put it away

I agree Richards is looking better. With his speed (lack of it) he is finding new ways to contribute to the Hawks offense. It will take some time for him to understand his role. I loved his goal last night by getting to the front of the net.

I don't care who's on the left side, but I'm all for keeping Richards and Hossa together, just to see Foley go nuts calling out the wrong names!

I like reading JJ's thoughts but this entire piece can go right in the trash can. All that was left out was a power struggle in the front office.

I was just critical of Richards and then he went had his best game of the year I thought last night. It's got to take some time to get used to Q constantly changing things up.

No word on Sharpie although they've replaced him with Saad tonight to unveil the Hawks winter classic sweater. Hoping for the best, but just watching him last night trying to get off the ice it didn't look good.

Yeah...and the play he made before it too leading to the goal...him and Sharpie winning a board battle....Hopefully he gets used to Q and his line blending and fits in on this team and provides them with some depth down the middle for the rest of the season and hopefully playoffs

Williams? Weird...

Brown, I get it that other teams think he's dirty, I don't. The thing about Shaw, for me, is that he sticks people on fly-bys, Brown simply crushes them face to face in an expected confrontation. Shaw ruins his talent by that, which is why I called him a hacker.

- PlayerX

You obviously don't see Shaw play much. Also looks like you must be missing something on Brown since even your blogger (not the only one either) considers him dirty. Plenty of "face to face" checking by Shaw and a lot less stick play than either Williams or Brown.

Agree to disagree. Thanks for the input about Shaw being dirty though on a Blackhawks thread. I think they have a name for that.... Gnoming or something?

Ouf, i think you guys pushing a little bit on the dirty hit by Emelin. It was a clean check, althought a little bit late. But saying he was targeting the knee is a totally biased. The play went to fast to even think about being dirty on that play.

That being said, holy fock did we get ass beaten again. If there was no panic after sunday's again, i predict it will be a completely diferent story today.

And if we cannot beat Buffalo clearly tonight??

I predict we will here some ''Fire Therrien already'' in the medias.

- soad_live

Emelin does have a deserved reputation but I have to agree here. Play happened too fast for it to be a deliberate attempt to injure. The smirk on the bench afterwords was really despicable though.

Last night's game was one of their best efforts into this early season. I was talking to my cousin in Montreal and he said the media and fan base are going ape poop. Too funny

Why not start with

Smith-Toews-Kane
Saad-Richards-Hossa
Bickell-Kruger-Versteeg
Shaw-Regin-Morin

Based on samples from last night...
(It'll all change a few shifts in anyway!)
