Yep, agree. I liked the lace at the top when I was a yoot playing. And they were made of rayon back then which was much more comfortable. They hit the post with this, the newer logo doesn't belong.

I'm wondering if it's because of all the sensitivities on team names and logos being racist. I know the Hawks aren't really in that firestorm but probably playing it safe. Or it could be just simply combining the old with the new.

Hearing Peter Regin will be the one recalled by the Blackhawks from Rockford today.

If that is the case, why in the world would the NHL put the Blackhawks in the showcase event, in DC no less.
Edit: another reason Bettman hates Chicago - he is going to make an issue of the name......

I don't think putting them in the game had anything to do with it and not for nothing that's a league decision to put them in. The team decides, with league approval, on the jersey. I think the Hawks played it safe.

I typically love throwback uni's. I like when the Bears wear the throwback Blue and Orange, but I think the Hawks missed the mark on this one. They should have used the 57' Indianhead.

The "powers that be" that put the Blackhawks in this game did it for one reason and one reason only - TV ratings.

Who in the league (or, I guess, the U.S. - I don't think it can be a Canadian team for some reason) would be a better TV draw than Chicago? NBC made the decision.

You see anti-Blackhawks conspiracies; I see television decisions.

I guess the subject was the jersey - if the league asked to use the current logo instead of a "better" logo for the game, then there must be a reason. If it is the sensitivity do to the Washington Redskins, then why but the Chicago Blackhawks in that fire?
