low balling, for sure. I can see a 2 year bridge at 3/3.5.

It'll be the whole "we like you, we want you, but we need to know you've got the offensive flair we took you for and from what we know you can do."

The way he's been treated here, and the way he's been utilized. Would not be even slightly surprised if he asks for a trade. It's embarassing the way we've developed him.

Pitlick is out right now with a concussion. Iiro has been given time to adjust to the NA ice, but is finally being recalled. I'd like to see Yak2 and JK stay in the AHL the entire season and let them flourish. Give Kessey a shot. Chase is back in the WHL.

I see it being Iiro/Pitlick/Rizzoto/Acton in terms of call-up order. I'm hoping that Iiro does really well and they keep him.

I think Acton gets the calls simply because he works hard, and Eakins likes him. Eakins finds uses for Gazdic. Therefore, he finds use for Acton. It's a shame, I like Gazdic, but not as a serviceable player outside of facepunching.

- ProfessorChaos

Acton is up because he is the most useless player we have. He can sit in the box and not hurt his development and if we send him down to the he will just take a spot that can go to someone who is developing.

He has never voiced displeasure with being here, in fact he always says he loves t here. The way we have developed him is similar to the way Boston developed Seguin. Seguin sat in the box on more than one occasion and when he did play it was on the third line until he started producing, Yak has not produced enough to be gifted a spot on the first line.

We have an injury to a key player, part of your development is to sub in for injuries and get your feet wet in the NHL, that's just an overall horrible excuse for calling up Acton.

I agree, he should be an emergency forward with other players being called up before he gets to play.

Kind of hard to produce when you're playing with plugs on your off wing. He produced enough his rookie season to justify playing more than 5 minutes the season opener. Then he gets put on the LW with Gazdic and everyone goes "oh geez, why isn't he producing anymore?? Durp"

Then Hall gets injured and EVERY SINGLE forward on the team gets more ice time but him. But i guess you know, Arcobello has produced so much more than Yakupov that Eakins was justified in playing him 20 minutes against Philly, even though Yakupov had 6 shots in less than 14 minutes. Makes sense.

You want a skilled player to produce, you usually put them with skilled players. Or you know, 1st line PP. but sure, it's Yakupovs fault that Eakins doesn't utilize him

There is only one Dustin Brown..one Shea Weber..one Mike Richards. You make it seem like theres a bunch of clones of each..hate it when people yap about "the crosbys of the league" there is only one of each.

That's exactly where all the debating comes from. "defensively liable", "not committed", etc.

While Yak's showed his offensive power in the rookie season, last year he was bad on defense. Eakins is working on finding that balance and is keeping Yaks on a leash to prevent him from veering off course.

It's frustrating to watch because we want him to be like Ovechkin and just score beautiful goals and to be a force, but we also need him to be able to produce positive results in his own zone.

Yak's time will come, it's just not coming soon enough for us to enjoy.

Parikenen? Kessey? Chase? Pinizotto? Yakimov? Kharia? someone who might actually have a (frank)ing future with this team?

Well according to b1tch they're all unknown/unproven AHL players, where as Acton on the other hand, he's quite solid and proven

If Yakupov needs to play with our best players to produce I would argue that he himself is not a good player. Would you rather not have Yakupov on a soft comp line playing against 3rd pairing D instead of going up against the Shea Webers of the world?

We drafted him for his dynamic offensive ability, we're trying to make him into a player he's not and in doing so, ruining his offensive accumen. When you draft a player first overall, you develop him into the player you believe you drafted and you surround him with supporting players to help pick up the slack from where he's lacking. You give him every chance you possibly can to do what you drafted him to do.

Also, he has been leaps and bounds better in his own zone this year, and how has he been rewarded for his play? Oh he hasn't? Didn't think so.

but Pouliot has been rewarded, Arcobello defintely deserves the ice time he's been getting over Yakupov right?
