Matt Henderson: About That Goal - Matt_Henderson
Good analysis. I didn't see the game last night, but I heard we hit some posts and got some bad bounces?
Before people start chiming in about Yakupov or Draisaitl, being a responsible defender is not about anticipating that Hendricks is going to lose a puck battle to Schenn and giving up on being an outlet at the first sign of conflict. |

Meh. Who cares? The forwards stink, the Defense stinks,The goalies stink ,the Coach stinks and I'm starting to lean towards the GM stinking as well ( the sweet fragrance of the Perron trade has worn off.
Sure Mac T had inherited a team that was about 17 players short of a quality NHL roster and he undoubtably upgraded just about every position, but to what degree? It's not inconceivable to take a lump of poop, upgrade it with better lumps of poop and finish up with basically just a pile of somewhat better poop. In the end, it's still just a pile of poop. |

What happened to that 3 game win streak or whatever?
Sorry, I had to rub it in a bit.
Seriously though there's not much to be optimistic about for you guys. Hopefully when a substantial move or trade is made you guys can start to right the ship again. Honestly, I don't have any answers like all of the other smart asses on here, but I kind of get the impression that Hall isn't the guy to lead the team.
I know you guys will mostly all disagree, but I think you either need to trade him or trade others to bring someone in who can be "the guy" in terms of taking control of this team (Much like Giordano has done for the Flames).
Not sure who it would be or what the price would be, but it needs to be done! |

I actually agree with you and that pisses me off. Problem is that list is pretty short of great leaders throughout the league that might be available.
If the Oilers could somehow add a Dustin Brown, Shea Weber ( huge boner), or even a Mike Richards it would help. |

Not on par with those guys, but he's an easy morale move:
Sign Derek Morris to a one year, 1 million dollar contract. Slow, but experienced. High character, shows emotion. Local guy, and a fair choice for a 7th defenseman. |

Surmise Eakins will be let go, it’s really not quite as easy as Eklund suggests. He was the only person considered by MacT for the head coaching position. It began as a search for an associate coach for Ralph Kruger, who was released afterward. Interviewing only one candidate does not display a thorough hiring process by management. So if Eakins is relieved of his duties, one could make the same argument for McTavish as well. Quite a shakeup this early, with their best player on IR. |

There is only one Dustin Brown..one Shea Weber..one Mike Richards. You make it seem like theres a bunch of clones of each..hate it when people yap about "the crosbys of the league" there is only one of each. |

The problem is upper management that doesn't like to change they all need to go from the owners down before they can get better. |

Upper management doesn't like to change? Explain that? Upper management has no interest in firing itself? Upper management do not want to make organizational changes?
You have one opportunity to explain what to me is one of the stupidest posts I have ever read. Then again, I may just misunderstand this. |
