Anyways all I can say is that aslong Eakins remains as a Coach the Oil chances are Good to pick First Overall again,if MacT wakes up and grow a pair and makes a Coach change then you all will see how this Oil team will improve.

Fire Eakins is an okay opinion to have.

Anyone who says we should have kept Krueger is a fool.

no. it isn't

there is absolutely zero concrete evidence to support your claim. like none

Thank you.

This is the sort of unsubstantiated "trust me, I saw so and so at the supermarket" bullpoop we used to call Cloutier on, so I have no patience for hypocrites who claimed they were above that poop parroting it here.

So Detroit must be fools for trading for Quincey with those first rounders?

Also, compare the rosters all you want, the Krueger Oilers had better puck luck and better goaltending and were considerably worse 5 on 5. This year's Oil are not substantially different in terms of points earned so far.

Eakins needs to get this team performing on special teams though.

Agreed.

Problem is that not every player has that attitude, I doubt there's a team out there where 23 guys think that way.

he tries to drive home the same sh1t with different wording over and over and over and over.

by his logic, every gm that's ever hired a coach and had to fire them at some point is a fool.

theres certainly something to be said about Eakins job being on the line. but alex has never made a solid point in any form about it. and I don't believe he's capable of doing so

especially since we even try to be reasonable and hand him some decent points.

Like how Eakins does not and has never had a team at the AHL or NHL level who's particularly excelled at special teams.

Or how Eakins may well be in management's pocket about how he runs the team.

Or how Eakins seems to have a sliding scale for how he punishes screwups.

but he doesn't actually ever talk about that. He talks about how the team happens to lose, and that players hate him, and that he has a blank stare when the team gets scored on. Lather rinse repeat. It's pointless

I've given up on dealing with him, but i love watching you few (HB77/NugeisHuge/Morris) try to explain to him how he is wrong.

He is one of those people that believes that since they have a voice they should be heard and that their ideas are the perfect ideas. Hell, I bet Alex_Oil would make for a terrible politician with only having a platform of just arguing with the ones that have intelligence and capable skills.

But, again, I applaud you guys. It's always a joy to see the IQ rise up so nicely when you chime in.

To say that anyone is a Fool on believing that krueger should have kept is wrong, and I'm suprise with that coming from you,There's not way you or me or anyone could say if Krueger would had done better or not if kept and giving the extra players MacT have brough in,but I can certanily say that so far under Eakins there's 0 improvement after A Full season and 12 games in so far this new season.

It's because he only comes here to troll, he isn't liked by anyone here so he took it upon himself to come here after losses and try to annoy the fanbase as much as possible. You'll never see him on these boards when the Oilers are doing ok. Nobody takes him serious and I am baffled why anyone actually responds to anything he writes and gives him the attention he so sorely craves. I have a feeling his parents didn't love him too much as a kid.

don't forget his little addendum that mact hired him so hes part of the problem as well. its like his attempt at seeming reasonable through focusing some fault at someone else's feet. while getting an extra parrot jab at Eakins at the same time

his shtick is tired

I'll agree, as will most people, that Eakins is most likely on thin ice. But, at the same time, how can a coach control when players get injured and lesser players have to take those spots?

I would expect that Eakins remains as coach for the remainder of this season and then, if results are still terrible, then something drastic will take place.

Columbus has some key injuries at forward. Some short term (Dubinsky) and some longer/permanent (Horton).

Fedor Tyutin was a top pairing guy a few years ago for them, but he's a solid 2nd pairing guy now. They don't see him as a top guy all things considered.

There's an argument to be made that Tyutin is their 4th best dman, and there's an argument to be made that he'd be our best dman. He's got 4 years at 4.5 million after this.

Maybe there's a deal to be swung here?

I hate that part. MacT is a waste because he hired Eakins so MacT should be fired too.

give me a break.

What are you thinking?

I wouldn't give up Petry. I'd give up Jultz and another minor piece.

Edmonton averaged 26.9 5-on-5 shots for per 60 minutes during the lockout season with 32.2 against.

The next year, they averaged 26.1 5-on-5 shots for per 60. Exact same 5-on-5 shots against at 32.2.

Be curious to see how it plays out this year when all is said and done.
