Krueger's team would have had 76 points based on a 82 game schedule.
Eakins team last year had 67 points And played 16 Eastern Conference games against much easier opponents. So you could probably realistically add 6-8pts to Kruegers total.
Based on this year thus far which is way too small a sample size over 48 games Eakins would have had 36 pts. Take out the Eastern conference games and I believe he would have 1 point so far? which totals 4 points?
Not pretty at all.
Now I am done the argument , reason I don't usually come on these boards is exactly because arguing with some people who have never played a high level of hockey is somewhat pointless. - oilermeister

Well ya just never know in here. It's like talking bout J-LO's team meetings before shifts at Arby's, and it gets all blown out of proportion to running board meetings for multibillion dollar companies. |

You raise a point, actually. Manure actually contributes to growth... The Oilers have been been pretty much dead for 8 years. |

Again you and I or anyone can't say that for sure since he never had the chance to Coach the Oil with all this new players,so to your compromise I will only say this, lets wait till half of the season and will see where this team is at the standings and from there we can talk about the improvement your talking about. - AlEx_OiL
Think about this logically.
If Kreuger was so good why isn't he a coach with an NHL team, in some form.
With that said, I don't think he was given a fair chance with coaching this team...but to think he would have been much better than Eakins is just not logical, or provable.

He was a good special teams coach, that's about it, Renney was a good coach, Kruger was a good side kick |

Did u take into account the teams winning percentage in the last third of the season? How about how massively they were trending downwards when the games got meaningful?
And u know that assuming and then saying we should add points here and there for reasons that are nothing more than conjecture doesn't make it so, right? The shortened schedule helped Kruegers record. Not the other way around
Maybe u should skip worrying about what level hockey other people played and concentrate on how flawed your math skills are |

I'd argue he was actively bad at coaching 5v5 and installed a fair number of bad habits.
Renney is an example of a coach who got worse results than Krueger (and Eakins, for that matter) but is probably a better coach than both.
Strikes me we REALLY need a special teams guru in here. |

Anyone else feel like this Marincin thing has to be either trade or injury? Like it's such an objective moronic idea that it couldn't possibly be about his play?
Like why would Eakins announce the call a day in advance? |

It's pretty weird.
He played some great games. Has had a few pretty mediocre games. But he's not horrible by any stretch. And from Aulie play in the preseason alone, he should be no where near the roster.
Maybe aulies played well in the A?
Marincin trade/injury?
Marincin been asked to engage and play a grittier style and he hasn't= punishment?

Chase was a healthy scratch in Sask on Tues related to on ice discipline. He has requested a trade out of Calgary and has returned home.
Also, where did you guys see the Marincin news? I haven't seen anything related to him at all today. I know Aulie was called up to replace Ference during the suspension and that is all I have seen about it. |
