Maybe not you specifically, but there are an awful lot of posters on here that think this team would be great and that Eakins is 95% the problem. Those guys are annoying ( Alex_oil)If we had the same record with a capable veteran 2C , a stud D man and an elite goalie added to this group than I would be one of those guys blaming Eakins 100%.
As it stands right now we have a poopty coach coaching a poopty team, and some people are so much in love with the players they can't see that.
And by some posters I mean a good solid 6 that regularly post that malarkey. - Jeropotato
Eakins is 36.82% the problem. I used calculus to come to this conclusion. |

Seems high. But who am I to argue with math.
Those who put yaks struggles all on Eakins cause he won't spoon feed him 20 mins a night alongside the nuge make me chuckle |

lol wrestling was fake in the 50's too.
Agreed. Ventura was awesome as an announcer. - laughs2907
The guy was probably just a kid in the Hulkamania era and believed it like the rest of us.....but can't come to grips with the fact that he was a foolish 10 year old.

Oh absolutely specifically him.
He's toned down the Eakins rants because his thick skull is maybe finally seeing how porous and bad we are that couldn't possibly be spun to blame most of it on who's behind the bench. (Nikitin, fayne, ference are 3 of our supposed stalwarts!)
And he was fully on the "we shouldn't be this bad" train and that is a direct result of Eakins. Truth, We're probably only unequivocally better than about 4 maybe 5 teams in the league.
He's ranted about yaks deployment for ages. And then used the marincin demotions as ammo to further the Eakins blaming when he had a couple other brain deads agreeing.
He goes on and on and on about hockey knowledge as if it's some sort of badge.
But until he proves that he understands the problems or says stuff with at least the tiniest amount of validity, he won't convince anyone, (outside of the blame everything on Eakins parrots), that he has ANY of this knowledge he's convinced he possesses - hugefemale dog77
Well so much for my weak attempt at diplomacy

Kinda like those who give Eakins zero credit for Yaks somewhat improved play. Ha think maybe Yak learned a little something from last year? |

No need. He's a parrot.
It's no coincidence that he retorted to it. He was fully on the marincin demotion as another mark against Eakins. It got ugly there for abit. The most inane decisions that have been employed in this league for years were getting called out because they were probably gonna fail. (Because our team is bad!!)
I like Martin, he's got a long future as an nhl'er. I think he made a solid impact initially, but he's had some weak games now.
Either way, Dallas effin Eakins isn't the only coach in the league who might be benching and demoting him right now. While this becomes apparent to those who ranted, it probably pisses them off to look foolish. |

I loved wrestling during the Monday Night Wars era... God, I miss it
Now wrestling is full of talented mid-carders, but is severely lacking when it comes to heavyweight talent with the "It Factor"... There's not many guys right now who you look at and say, "wow, that's a larger than life personality"...
Oh, and the writing blows these days. People will argue that, but those people are idiots. |

Yeah he's still just a kid and somewhat Raw. I have no problem with benching anyone who needs to be better. Not everyone deserves the Mark Messier treatment.

Some further calculations huh?
Fair enough.
It's getting tougher to defend Eakins while we lose. Even if I think it's deeper, he ain't getting it done. This is a league that respects winning.
But I'd hope Mact make a meaningful change to our defence before he caves and axes Dallas.
AND/OR
Gets a coach that sucks the offensive life out of the game and clogs the sh1t outta the neutral ice, until we learn how to win.

Yeah I liked it a lot when Bret Hart was popular in Canada and hated in the states. It helped when 3 of the top heels ( Owen and Bulldog) were actually talented . Always meant there would be at least a couple good technical matches on any night. |

Seems like he's never communicating with his players. Every time they show him, she's got that same stupid look on his face. |

Id for sure like to say nurse already as his skills are so apparent. But I'll remain as a realistic as possible and say he's a question mark. Same for klefbom.
But out of the 3 guys we're hoping on, I think marincin has already shown he will be a very capable top 4 at some point.
If he continues to gain confidence on the breakout and work on his positioning if he doesn't wanna be a true battler, we'll love having him for a long time.
Side note; petry needs some fuking help too.
He's shell shocked I think from years of heavy forechecks and zero help.
A stud 1 would turn him into a great 2 I think. But even just give him a boychuk, coburn and he'll be so much more effective imo |

That's a huge part of it too....eakins does not have much in the way of likeability.people judge from the outside, it's human nature, but Eakins is not buying any benefit of the doubt because he has no personality , stupid hair and THAT constant look on his face like he might have left the iron on back home. |

I have said it many times....is he all that much worse than Josi or Brodin? I would guess he would be just as heralded if he were partnered up with Weber or Suter.

Yeah I remember seeing that episode, but I think I was done watching by then for the most part. I only saw about 3 episodes of Nitro in its final couple of years. I mean, David Arquette? |
