Gio for the Norris!!!!! Get on board guys! You D suck so you may as well cheer for one in Alberta at least. - whipper334
You may as well trade him to us. Nikita Nikitin can shoot real hard so thats a fair trade. |

I read the first 1 or 2 lines but yeah we should fire Eakins and hire the Katz kid to coach. - Dangles13
It was actually pretty good.
it touched on how narratives and stuff that is flat out untrue becomes fact somehow.
"how the team was better under Krueger and Eakins has regressed the team etc etc etc."
he touches on a lot of things that make this untrue. but specifically as far as the pp, which is alot of the Eakins bashers meat and potatoes. luck and shooting percentage can only remain so high for so long. and by some metrics, Eakins pp might actually be better.
results are the only thing that matter and if they let him go so be it.
but I love these articles that just completely blow what has somehow become conventional wisdom, right outta the water.
so many people have an incredibly tough time seeing an analytical and thoughtful view on what could be the problems.
nothing beyond what they know to be tangible and right in front of them could possibly ever be true.
they just flat out don't have that capacity to grasp those things. |

I think everyone agree that the special teams have suffered since (and perhaps because of) Eakins. Maybe some of the Eakins haters can tell me what has changed under him.
I'm a hockey fan, but not so much a hockey analyst. - Morris
The thing I've noticed most on our powerplay is poor zone entries and lack of movement. Most of the time the puck stays on the left side of the goalie. We have to start using the entire o zone. I've noticed MANY times where Eberle has been wide open all alone between the hash marks and top of the circle but the puck doesn't get there. Let's face it, guys like Eberle excel on the PP and should be given the puck more. I think we have a much better chance to score if our skill guys have a quality chance instead of trying to give Nikitin/hunt a big one timer |

Eh. It's averaged out lately. Gio and Brodie are what are making the biggest impact right now. |

You have to trade him right now. He will never have higher value, he was undrafted after all. |

Yeah I remember seeing that episode, but I think I was done watching by then for the most part. I only saw about 3 episodes of Nitro in its final couple of years. I mean, David Arquette? - Jeropotato
You're right, Nitro did start sucking during its final years... I remember watching when Booker T became one of their main guys, and it was horrible... |

Best goalie tandem in years? Sure. Ever? No chance.
Ever heard of grant Fuhr and Andy Moog? - Jeropotato
Fair point, I didn't know Fuhr and Moog were at the same time (was too busy being 1 years old then) but since then, yes.
And no, this is not like saying RNH is the best center ever, that's ridiculous. Fasth's is someone I've followed for a long time and has a pedigree to be elite. Scrivens, same thing, they've stolen games but in the end an incompetent team will always find a way to lose. |

Rather a true #1 and a mediocre 2, - than two great backups or "1b's" if you will.
I'm not attempting to say tending is our Achilles heel, or put the blame on them for anything in particular. but it's Been very hot and cold. They steal a point, then blow one. We need more consistency from them |
