Craig Ramsay IMO should have gotten a call.
- dadeadhead

Possibly, but again, there are people not tied to the organization that are also good at setting up penalty kills. The bigger issue is that it was never really addressed, whether by Ramsay or somebody else.

Pysyk has to be wondering what the hell he has to do to a stick with this team.
- buffalofan19

He has looked really bad in rochester. He doesnt deserve to be here right now. Ditto Mccabe

Correct.

But they are two of the better ones IMO.

If there was one thing Lindy Ruff was really, and I mean really, good at, it getting players to be good penalty killers. That is one thing that dropped off tremendously when he was fired.
- buffalofan19

The PK was actually in the top 10 until the first Pittsburgh game. Seems to have taken a bit of a nose dive since then.

So I've been told. I haven't paid as much attention to Rochester as I really should. Too many things to take care of after I finish working my not-so-real job.

Yea Pysyk had the injury early so could have something to do with it but those two should be looking elite at that level

Yes. Exactly.

Speaking of that, sort of: I've spent the past week and a half or so taking care of my friends' Rotweiler-Shepherd mix dog while they are on vacation. I've never owned a dog, and I probably still won't (in large part because I'm allergic to many of them, even this go around required some allergy medication), but I have to say, it's been a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

Dogs are awesome.

I prefer them over cats any day.

The hate for Kaleta is unreal. He actually isn't a bad hockey player. He isn't going to score a lot, but he isn't here for that. He is really good defensively and will help with our puck possession. His forechecking, ability to knock guys off the puck and pk play is why he is still playing. He has been labelled though, and that is why people give him a hard time. I have seen dozens of worse hits and cheap shots that were worse than what PK has been suspended for, but his reputation and shannaban's hate for him/buffalo is why he has been suspended so many times. I for one am looking forward to seeing him back in the lineup.

I heard an interview the other day, I forget with who, but it was said that Pysyk's play has gone downhill because of his demotion from the NHL to AHL.

They could have used Kaleta sooner, with all the penalties in the last 2 games. He's a big reason the PK will bounce back, if he can manage to stay in the lineup.

He is a complete waste of a roster spot that brings nothing to this team, we have McCormik that brings more. Who cares if he kills a penalty here or there, he's not even good for that and his act is old. Give him 1 game and then his dumb ass will get hurt or do something stupid and he will be gone yet again, hopefully for good.

Friend of mine just texted me and told me that Bettman awarded the Maloff brothers the rights for an NHL expansion team here in Vegas, if it happens. Don't know how true it is.

Huge mistake putting a sports team in Vegas.

I believe one of the bloggers had this up yesterday. Although I'm not sure if I saw it here or elsewhere.

It said the cost of an expansion team would be $400 million.

The speculation was two western teams would be added, Vegas and possibly Seattle.

I disagree. It would be the only major professional team in LV. You would get regular fan base and casino fanbase.

Rumor was the NHL wanted to see if they could generate a real fanbase and not just casino seats.

MGM already started building a 20,000 seat arena so we will see what happens from there I guess.

Why? The fanbase? I would think the fact that it's the only major sports franchise in the market would more than take care of that.

Gambling? It seems that new arenas are being built jointly with Casinos all over the place now, and it doesn't seem to affect anything.

I could see it becoming a Toronto in the West.

Meaning the vast majority of seats would become corporate and then used as comps for guests.

The real problem is going to be the fact that it's going to be an expansion team, which means they are going to stink for about five years at least.
