We are getting all sorts of crap for tanking on purpose but we just flat out suck but Colorado is obviously tanking and no one bats an eye. Discuss. - DynamicThreads
The other answer as to why were getting so much hate is jealousy and fear. People are jealous that we put ourselves in the right place at the right time. Also they fear Terry Pegula's commitment and wealth combined with future superstar talent will then create a domino effect where Buffalo will become a top destination for free agents taking Buffalo from perpetual losers to perpetual powerhouse. |

Just out of curiousity, have you actually watched a good portion of Colorado's games? The only reason I ask if you've seen their games is because I haven't. I would think that they should be better than they are, but I made a comment about them being bad last night and one of the Avs fans that posts on here periodically said the defense is just not good.
You can't say that the players are trying to tank, because they're just not wired that way. I think losing Stastny has caused a few issues for them among other things. He played a bigger part there than a lot of us thought I think.

Not sure it's the same, the organization and the majority of our fans are pro tank, whereas the Avalanche are just underachieving. We went into the year hoping for a top pick, they were coming off a playoff appearance.
I suspect they (along with Columbus) will find their way out of the bottom 5 soon enough. - Sabresfan-365
Columbus will come around once they get some guys back from injury. They got bit with the injury bug pretty quick. I think Bob is due back for them soon. But they have like 9 guys on IR right now. |

The D Core isnt overachieving like it did last year and its being exposed time and time again...Example Roy loves Nate Guenin in the line up bc he blocks a lot of shots and likes to pair him wtih Barrie but Guenin CF% without Barrie 35%, with Barrie 38.2%. Barrie without is over 50%. He has guys like thsi in the line up that cant carry the load by themselves and drags down the partner they are with. |

I've caught parts of a few of their games, it's a small sample size but imo their back end is sub par. They just always seem like they're chasing the play and constantly making errant passes.

Yea they got the injury bug real bad, and some long term one's too. Anisimov is still out indefinitely with a concussion i believe? |

Complete crazy talk, so don't take it as serious, but what would need to be involved in a Myers/Duchene swap? |

Probably have to add Ristolainen. Duchene's just on another level, and the team canada selection probably adds to the price tag as well. |

Cant see any scenerio that he could be become available. Dutch is the only guy who shows up on a nightly basis, without him this team has no horse to drive the offence. |

Yeah, like I said, it's crazy talk, but with MacKinnon, Landeskog and ROR as some other talented youth, just wondered what craziness it might take to pry Duchene away. |

I can't stand all the flak the Sabres are taking for "tanking". They were a non-playoff team going nowhere fast with guys on expiring contracts who weren't going to re-sign in Buffalo and who other teams were willing to pay well over fair value to acquire. Is there any team that wouldn't have done the exact same thing in that situation? If 2015 didn't have the potential to be one of the deepest drafts in decades this would be a complete non-issue. |
