I'm amazed how confused they look offensively. I know there is little to no talent, but I expected them to be a smarter team - sbroads24
Well they don't have a very smart coach (When it comes to hockey) IMO. |

Did Steen do something to Nuevirth? I wasn't watching closely at that point but all I remember is Weber grabbing him after the play was done and getting a penalty - sbroads24
I didn't see him do anything but yea Weber made a dumb play there. |

I would like to see a trade for a " number 1 center" someone with some talent. Hodgson is useless and Ennis I still don't think he's a number 1. - SABRES 89
Ennis isn't a #1, but I don't think we need to.
Reinhart, Grigorenko, McEichel, Girgensons is an amazing stockpile of talent at that position. It's just gonna suck waiting another year to see them |

This is why I think McDavid is key. I know I know luck, lottery etc etc. They need to land him. He has another gear. He will back everyone off.
I for one will be very disappointed if the Sabres don't walk up with the first overall come draft time. - ImThatGuy
You shouldn't.
Eichel in no consolation prize.
He'd have been the clear #1 the past 4 or 5 years had he been old enough.
This myth that McDavid is so much better really has me at a loss of words. |

THE HOCKEY NEWS: In case you’re wondering why Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers remains a fixture in the rumor mill, it’s his potential to blossom into a star which is why so many teams remain interested in him.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: I chuckle whenever I read people disparaging Myers and questioning why anyone would want to acquire him. He’s a big blueliner with plenty of skill and at 23 has plenty of time to blossom into a true top-two defenseman. Put him on a deeper club and he’ll shine. That’s also why the Sabres are leery to part with him, and why they’ve set the asking price so high.
Myers is lost as of now and i'm not a huge fan of him but IMO it would be a mistake to trade a player like him with his size and skill. |

Yep, although I see him as a wing also.
I know I have said I believe Girg will end up a top 6 winger (like Dustin Brown IMO)
But the thought of a Lemieux/Girgensons/Compher line is appealing to me |

I'm "resigned" to the fact that the Sabres will end up with Eichel, which, as you say, is also a world class talent. I do think McDavid is better, having seen them both.
McDavid also has the "everybody wants him, and we got him" factor that I like too. I know we've discussed this before, but I think Eichel will most likely have the better stats early because of his competition and "men versus boys" factor. |

I know you aren't a fan, and that play was awful the other night (even though he was on his opposite side of the ice) but do you really think he's lost? I think outside of not scoring he's been pretty solid for us |

Myers has been good. I still hold what I held last year about him. At this point, I couldn't care less if he stays or goes, but he's never going to be the traditional championship caliber #1 defenseman, and they will need one of those eventually to win a cup. |

I think the pressure on Myers is getting to him and IMO it's causing his play to go down hill. He just looks lost at times as does the whole team but I see it in him. |

By adding even less talent to a group that's already lacking it tremendously. - buffalofan19

No but I do think he would be a very good 2 or exceptional 3 on one.
IMO the only reasons Murray is entertaining any offers for him is the hopeful over payment and thought that either/both of Risto and Zads are that guy. |

What I'm saying is that they need one of those #1 defensemen, from somewhere. If they can get one of those and keep Myers at the same time (i.e. Ristolainen or even Zadorov becomes that player), that would be outstanding. If it takes moving Myers to get one, or they end up moving Myers for help (albeit significant help) somewhere else, I'm not going to lose much sleep either. |

Again . How can it hurt ? ? We are resigned to the fact we are finishing 30th . The play has been uninspiring to watch . Showcase him so you can trade him at the deadline for a 3rd or 4th, somebody will decide he might be good for their playoff run |
