Best way to look at is by counting OT games as regulation games and shootouts games as ties.

The Panthers have played awesome hockey, despite what the offense looks like! this team has showed that we have resilience and fight in us. Once the offense shows up (I know it will) they will be a very difficult team to play against! It is very frustrating watching games and seeing no one in the stands, it sucks that I live out of state now, but I Cant wait to be home for the winter and watch our Panthers play!

With charter flights and private team planes theres no reason why they couldn't play real hockey until a winner is decided.

Then just have 2 columns in the standings, W & L, and forget about points. (Like every other pro sport)

But they need this bastardised point system to justify their bastardised tie-breaking system. It's bush-league.

At least the loser points let fans and bloggers of crap teams brag about being over .500. But "parity is good" even if it's an illusion. Bettman is one crafty lil bastard.

I can't wait until The Vancouver Biters come back down to earth and get ousted in the first round again. All this time in the NHL and the Vancouver Hair Pullers still haven't won a Cup and never will. It really is a shame and pathetic that the Vancouver Divers arsonist fans have to troll some other teams blog because they are so stoned they don't which blog is there's.

Until Panther fans start putting up 20 to 30 posts discussing hockey while ignoring the trolls, I suggest that you take a break until the Panthers start stringing some wins together or something significant within the organization happens. There is trash talking going on in threads all over this site, and every other fanbase is able to roll with it and realize it's good natured, and, it's part of the fun of being a sports fan.

Dan only blogs once a week anyways, if he starts waiting for winning streaks to post we will never hear from the guy!

This is hilarious... Florida plays well and gets points but they don't really have those points because it isn't fair. Shut up.

I have no problem with the SO losses if they come in a game where we are behind and battle back to get the point; which is usually what happens. I am ALL in favor of extending the OT period and giving regulation wins 3 pts. But for now the rules are the rules and we are just playing hockey. You should be ashamed of yourselves that you've mustered up the stink to come here, weekly, and insult the franchise with no merit behind it. I remember a time when Pittsburgh was a signature away from playing NHL hockey in Saskatoon or some other desolate stretch of North America. The point system is what it is. We all hope here in Florida to not have to bank on these types of points, but for now we are what we are and we have what we have. Just like all of you. The sad part is we Panthers' fans are happy for Vancouver doing so well. I am happy the Pens were able to not only stay in PA, but become a fantastic franchise. But the first chance you all get, you come here and spit on the team. Shame on you all.

Bottom line for me is I would never wish ill on a fan base or franchise. I naturally do not like the Rangers or the Flyers, etc.... but I would never, EVER tell them they don't deserve what they have or be happy when they win. It's just who I am.
