Pysyk and McCabe are struggling in the AHL. They can't be considered to replace Myers at this point.

There also isn't a need to keep Risto, since we won't be good for a while. So if he can net us a scoring forward should we trade him too?

Who said give up? The fact of the matter is that they aren't close to being bonafide top 4 NHL defensemen. So you can't just assume there isn't going to be a drop off on our blue line.

I honestly don't know what we could get from Dallas that would be mind blowing. They aren't moving the Benn's and Seguin's of the team... I doubt they would move Spezza here.

I could be wrong, and would love for a top 10 pick, but I don't see that likely with Seguin, Benn, Nichuskin (whenever he returns) and Spezza. Hemsky is streaky. They have the tools to crawl, plus the king of the run to 9th behind the bench.

Problem in the West is once you fall behind, it's an uphill battle to get back in it.

As of now Chicago/Minny aren't in it and SJ is at the 8 spot.


Dallas is in trouble IMO. They are going to be that classic team that makes that panic move trade. Kind of like the Isles(not bagging on them) did last year.
