Yeah, there's just nowhere to even put it. It's hard to even shovel a path because you have to lift the shovel over your head to throw the snow somewhere else.
My street hasn't been plowed since the storm even hit. I got home at 10 pm Monday and there was already close to a foot in the street. So it's been 48 hours since the storm started, and I've not seen 1 plow. - HonkFortheGoose
I honestly feel bad for you and everyone else that has been affected.
I thought that I was a seasoned vet of Buffalo winters. Sure, I got stuck downtown overnight at work during the Thanksgiving Storm of 2000. But at least The Gate was open and was packed with people having a good time. Was able to get home the next day and then go back to get my car the very next.
October Storm 2006 was bad. Lost electricity on that Thursday night. Was still able to drive over to my parents house the next day, trough the driving ban, to check up on them. Had power back by Sunday morning. The worst part of that storm was having my power back while my parents did not get theirs back until the Friday after. Which meant that I had the pleasure of hosting my parents in my one bedroom apartment for a week.
But nothing compares to what is going on where you and others are. I am lucky. I am in the northtowns and I can not even imagine what it is like.
Just stay strong and know it will not last forever. Know that everyone who has not been affected are all thinking good things for you guys and will help out in anyway if called upon. Again, I can not even imagine. |

Been lurking here for years. Posted maybe twice the entire time, however I feel like I need to issue a correction. Flight 3407 did not crash in Amherst. It crashed in Clarence Center. I know this seems nit-picky however I lost 2 friends in that crash which also coincidentally occurred about a block from where I grew up. - SoCalPucks
I feel ya man, born and raised in Clarence. I could see the smoke from my house that morning. Scary to think that had the pilot turned or circumstances changed it could of been in my neighborhood. |

I live off of Main street, right near where Main and Sheridan meet, and we were without power that night, bizarrely enough. I was out filling up the generator with gas when I heard the plane hit. It was the strangest sound, and I was like, "what the (frank) was that?".
I couldn't believe it when I turned the news on the next morning. |

Thanks. I'm not too stressed to be honest. I can work from home, I have power, plenty of food, and my pup. It would be nice to get out of the house for even 10 minutes, but it is what it is. Both of my neighbors have checked on me and my roommate and I'm sure when all is said and done, we'll all band together to dig out. |

Question.
I was in Buff last weekend for the game. And I was trying to find a walmart.
Everyone I went to had moved. Where is the Walmart!. Also Where do you guys go to get your electronics.
I heard there is a place called Fry's? But im not sure if thats more of a southern state store or not. Also look for a circuit city? Couldnt find it...
Was thinking of throwing the tom tom off the i90 - Lee Denault
There's a "nice one" on Sheridan and Bailey, and one in Lockport that's... Um, fascinating people watching I guess.
Advantage co is the high end audio shop, but there's a BB on the left if you take Bailey to the end. |

has the area made any preparation for the flooding that may occur early next week?
serious question as that can be ten times worse then what some of you guys are going through now |

I don't think Hamburg has any prep for that, hell they haven't even plowed my street in 12+ hours. |

"This is the second loss in a row for Toronto and the second game in a row their fans displayed their anger and disgust by throwing their Leafs' regalia on the ice, although this time a Leafs' sweater was thrown on the ice during live play. Three nights prior, the Buffalo Sabres had pounded the Leafs 6-2 and frustrated Toronto hockey fans littered the First Niagara Center ice with a jersey and some scarves."
I'm really tired of those guys coming over the border and leaving their clothes behind.
Ok, needed to get that one out of the way. - nfph

Gives a sense of what the team is thinking with the callup (pulled from a D&C article):
Makarov has a 4.01 goals-against average, .864 save percentage and 1-4-1 record in six November appearances. He was pulled from one of his four starts.
Lieuwen has a 4.91 GAA, .838 save percentage and 0-3 record in his past six appearances. He has been pulled in three of his past five starts. |
