SSSSShhhhhhhh no one knows yet............
- Ur Not Me

Grabner to me is a poor mans Trevor Lewis. He's more like Kyle Calder 2.0... He is really fast! But he has terrible hands. Lewis can at least kill penalties, help your cycle and fill in here or there in a top 6 role in a pinch.

Completely agree with you guys on Nick Shore. He makes the thought of trading Stoll sit better with me. I love the way Stoll battles, especially in the playoffs. It's sad but there comes a time when every team has to restock the shelves and get younger.

I also think you guys may be right about Weal and the comparisons to Kozun. Guys like Shore, Kempe, Zykov will probably get the nod over him in time.

Has anyone seen Auger or Mersch play? Two big bodies that have been decent scorers. I am curious if either of those two have a legit shot at playing in the NHL at some point, even if it may take a little longer like a Pat Maroon in Anaheim.

In all seriousness, and I don't play the homer card, you have Grabner pegged wrong. he's really fast and I believe one of the fastest in league, he's a very good penalty killer (so u haven't watched any previous Isles games??) In a bad year Grabner has scored more than Lewis and his only knock is confidence and hasn't figured out a finishing move on breakaways other than that he could play and be a part of top 6 role, Lewis cant and wont ever be (so stop that comparison)
I just think that Grabner was pressing to much after his rookie season bc the team stunk and lacked in scoring besides JT and he had a break-out year. One thing for sure is that he has a very good shot but doesn't intend to use it much which is puzzling (like Bailey, has a good shot but doesn't shoot the puck)

Anyhow there was interest by your team last year by deadline before Kings acquired Gaborik. So in essence, I believe with the talent on your team and change of scenery Grabner can be effective player.... Thanks

I remember comments exactly like this in February 2012 and 2014. In 2012, we traded away Jack Johnson and in 2014, we traded away no one. Both years, we went on to win the Stanley Cup. The Kings don't need to trade anyone in order to do well this season. They might need to trade someone in the offseason in order to solve some Cap issues, but that has nothing to do with current on-ice performance.

The Kings have been and are currently a very streaky team. They will go on cold streaks where it seems like the sky is falling, then on hot streaks where they make the best teams in the league look like AHL teams. They are in the middle of a mild cold streak (They're 5-3-2 in their last 10 games...hardly catastrophic). As they have demonstrated so effectively in the past, the Kings don't need to finish at the top of their conference to go far in the playoffs. They can sneak in with a Wild Card spot if necessary and still take out all opposition.

Sorry, but history does not support your comments.

you're right dude, everything is going to be just fine. But if the kings don't make the play offs then history will not support your comment either. I hope you are right, but if you are wrong then that makes me right and if I am right then you would be wrong to think that you are right.

Oh and this is a quote from D.S. "The only thing you take from last year is that it was last year. It’s got nothing to do with this year."

I think his point of view trumps yours.... just sayin.

I agree, last season has nothing to do with this season. However, looking at only this season, if the Kings change nothing and continue on their current pace (5-2-3 in the last 10 games, 13 points out of possible 20), they will end up with 104 points on the season, which pretty much guarantees them a playoff spot.

Quick, blow up the team!

104 would get the job done. So much to consider though in order to make that average hold true to the end of the season. a few little bumps and that number lowers to 90 or below pretty easily.

The team has been pretty beat up over the first quarter of the season, and they still got to where they are now (playoff spot). They have yet to play a game this season with everyone in the lineup. Once people start returning and the team can ice something close to the full roster, then we'll see what happens. I still think they'll be fine.
