What did I say from the summer into preseason about Stewart? Did you think we Blues fans were making it up?
He is one of those most frustrating players you root hard for and see this ability and then he does not show up. Which is weird since he seems to pkay well for a new contract. Now he looks like some of those former Indian all-stars who could not hit or field until they were traded away back before they rebuilt Jacobs field.
I said last year I am fine with Stewart if he does not want to check but he better be scoring or creating goals. If he wants to play like a small, skilled forward who plays without physicality he has to produce like one. When he was scoring 28 goals a season he was skating hard off the rush and attacking the net. He was engaged and involved in aspects of the game. Then one night he leveled Kronwall of Detriot and was suspended. Since then he has never been the same player.
