And not that I hate the Oilers, or their Fans...
But after listening to the media and fans shoot their yaps off for the last 5 years, about being a dynasty again within 5 years, it just makes me laugh.

Right up there with the penguins. But atleast the pens attained some kind of accomplishment...
Oiler fans sure like to lash out at other fan bases when they get brought up. The sad reality is, that franchise has been gifted player after player. There is no excuse for them to still be spinning their wheels. |

So how about those Yotes? Because outside David Moss, you failed to mention them... Or is that you Cloutier? |

I think the Quebec Nordiques will be hard to beat, although they look to be on their way, in terms of quality picks within a five year period. From 1988 thru to 1992 inclusive they had SIX top five picks including three first overalls.
1987 - 9th & 15th overall (Joe Sakic)
1988 - 3rd & 5th overall
1989 - 1st overall
1990 - 1st overall
1991 - 1st overall
1992 - 4th overall

Having an opinion about the team the Yotes play, especially an opinion about the scrutiny, and the rumors surrounding that team?
How dare Tanner be relevant!! What an ahole!!! |

if you're always happy after reading one of his blogs, surely you must've read the 25 different ones dealing with the oilers, and the love/confusion/disappointment roller coaster that tanner has been riding with them all season that he was referring to. |

Kinda like the leafs record of years without a cup or their record of most teams joining the league since their last cup? |

You just can't win with some people. But I think it's worth pointing out that I never troll anybody and I only print things I believe and that I think there's more good analysis in this blog than you're likely to see in any intermission tonight, no matter what game you watch. |

And how did that work out? I think people ought to cut the Oilers a bit of break, because it might take a while, but this will be a good team.
I seem to remember Colorado was the best team in hockey (or one of them) for like a decade. |

That's kind of what I was thinking. I was also thinking about how I have been called an idiot over 3000 times on the internet and never once in my real life. Not once. Been called arrogant, know-it-all, jerk, f-face, d-head, d-bag, and like six million other things, but never an idiot. Not even once. |

All your stuff about the Oilers my friend is bang on!! If I hated losing I would not be the best person to be around either. Hall just wants better support as do all the top end guys. They were high draft picks because of their desire to win, they should be pissed and grumpy! And exactly, play the damn NHL players! not the guys that should be in the AHL. Good blog! |

I do love me some Oilers - they are my third most watched team. And well, they also take drama and soapyness to new extremes. This is pretty esoteric, but if they're going to have co-coaches, why not just get Bo and Hope or Lucas and Sammy?

I think the Lindros trade turn the tide for them, but yes it does take time. |

yep, no worries about having another team that grabs your attention. i was simply saying to that guy who seemed to suggest this was the first time you'd mentioned the oilers that you've been interested in them since pre-season.
i didn't get the coaches when they had quinn and a "co-coach" tom renney, didn't get firing kreuger, and don't get how you need to transition a new coach by allowing him to sit and watch the general manager coach first for a couple games. and if macT needs to be in there himself to see what the room is like and talk to the guys face to face, he really hasn't been doing any part of his job for the past season and a half. |

nor do i think you are one... but as a Flames fan if I had an entire blog dedicated to "the other team" I'd more or less ask what I did. Its kind of like going on a date with your girlfriend and spend the night talking about your ex... |
