I agree it's not THAT late, and not exactly from behind .. but it's textbook boarding (he clearly push him, never try to hit him with is shoulder), and a completely unnecessary hit. It's at least a 5 minutes penalty.

it's pretty borderline.


also pacioretty is not in his basic hockey position, knees bent with a low center of gravity.

I will explain this to him by making him stand up straight and whacking his legs out from under him and then doing the same when he is in the appropriate position, thus demonstrating to him how much more difficult it is to get him off his feet.

Th thing that bug me in that case it's that it wasn't a "hit", but a 2-handed push. When pushed like that, not really any other possible outcome for Max when he's that distance from the board.

Just watched this again last week. Not sure what all the whining was about. Gilmour (what a great Hab he was) clearly sticks his face into the stick, deliberately attempting to draw the penalty.
