«Do you like what you've seen from Sekac and Plekanec with Weise on their line?»

No, but I like what I see from Sekac.

I like Weise as a player, but like you said, he belongs on the 4th line.

That would be a boarding call every time in EA Sports NHL games... Joking aside, it looked like a boarding penalty worthy of an in game call. The injury is unfortunate but part of the game. Here's to hoping for a fast recovery for Patches.

the hit was late. and it was boarding. don't think Stoner meant for it to happen how it did though. think he assumed Pacioretty would just fall on his ass harmlessly.

He's watching the "Interview", at the peril of his life, and winning it back at the same time.

That is part of the problem, lack of recognition of what might happen in these cases (ie: by Stoner), not what he expects is likely to happen.

Once the puck was gone, there was no reason to throw that hit where a player is likely to be vulnerable.

Puck was gone, that was brutal and unnecessary.

right but these guys can't be running around the ice thinking "what if this goes wrong?" you'd never see a slap shot taken in that case. not absolving Stoner and it wouldn't have been surprising to see him even get 5 for it.

Regardless of vulnerability, what purpose is one hoping to achieve by finishing a check?

Body contact should be used to separate a player from the puck, or to help force a play. But finishing a hit like that doesn't change the play. All it achieves is injury.
