Never quite understood the logic behind the "admiring his own pass" - Not_Yan

I am here to provide the ONLY ACCEPTABLE analysis on the hit
The hit is not considered late
#67's didn't put himself in a position of danger : his shoulder is facing the board, wich is the correct way to absorb a body check
However, this is a textbook boarding penalty : #67 is at a certain distance from the board that require the opposing player to avoid projecting him towards said board.

I think it was cross check not finishing a hit nor pushing. - SPIDEROCKSTAR
Yeah maybe kinda, but whether he push him with his hands or his stick, Stoner clearly make a pushing motion with his arms. When you watch how Max fall forward, you can easily see it's not the result of a body on body collision but from being pushed. Not sure if it's a crosscheck or not it changes anything. |

now looking at it again... Stoner's arm extension is pretty brutal... he didn't just hit him, he made sure his momentum sent him into the boards - DoubleDown

After watching the hit, and the replay several times, it does appear that it should have been a boarding call. I doubt I’d call it a major penalty, but the arm extension of stoner and the area of where it happened, where the puck was..I’d have to say a 2 minute boarding call would have been appropriate. It’s easy to blame patches for watching the puck and putting himself into a vulnerable situation, but the arm extension on the play by stoner wasn’t necessary with the puck gone.
No suspension as I don’t see it as an attempt to hurt him, but a 2 min penalty should have been called.

Looking at this GIF, it appears that no refs even saw the hit. - nords21
there was one near the net on the other side, and he looked at it thinking that it was fine. |

Did anyone fight Stoner later?
Honest question.
Stoner was the guy Kane took 2 games for hitting from behind. |
