Never quite understood the logic behind the "admiring his own pass"

I am here to provide the ONLY ACCEPTABLE analysis on the hit

The hit is not considered late

#67's didn't put himself in a position of danger : his shoulder is facing the board, wich is the correct way to absorb a body check

However, this is a textbook boarding penalty : #67 is at a certain distance from the board that require the opposing player to avoid projecting him towards said board.

I think it was cross check not finishing a hit nor pushing.
- SPIDEROCKSTAR

Yeah maybe kinda, but whether he push him with his hands or his stick, Stoner clearly make a pushing motion with his arms. When you watch how Max fall forward, you can easily see it's not the result of a body on body collision but from being pushed. Not sure if it's a crosscheck or not it changes anything.

now looking at it again... Stoner's arm extension is pretty brutal... he didn't just hit him, he made sure his momentum sent him into the boards

After watching the hit, and the replay several times, it does appear that it should have been a boarding call. I doubt I’d call it a major penalty, but the arm extension of stoner and the area of where it happened, where the puck was..I’d have to say a 2 minute boarding call would have been appropriate. It’s easy to blame patches for watching the puck and putting himself into a vulnerable situation, but the arm extension on the play by stoner wasn’t necessary with the puck gone.

No suspension as I don’t see it as an attempt to hurt him, but a 2 min penalty should have been called.

Looking at this GIF, it appears that no refs even saw the hit.
- nords21

there was one near the net on the other side, and he looked at it thinking that it was fine.

Did anyone fight Stoner later?
Honest question.

Stoner was the guy Kane took 2 games for hitting from behind.
