"Talent is certainly not the issues with this sputtering Wild squad, so maybe its time for Yeo to address reality and be decisive with his actions which would be a welcome change from the tired narratives he has been selling as explanations for the failures of his team. "
You nailed it with this take. When tasked with setting up his lineup, Yeo has failed. When tasked with motivating his players, rewarding those that have produced and demoting those that have not, Yeo has failed. |

Seems like a fairly reasonable conclusion that with the hiring of Peter Loviolette, the Predators have essentially leap frogged the Wild and are clearly now the better team. |

Having a Vezina-worthy goaltender certainly hasn't hurt either. Chucky had a chance to hire Lavy |

Yes, another mediocre goalie is exactly what this team needs. We'll give you Vanek for him |

Holy poop is Kuemper bad. Hate to get all knee jerk on it, but I hope to hell Fletch has something in the works in the goaltending dept soon. |

Seriously, Jokinen has a face only a mother could love. I've taken eel pout out of Mille lacs that are better looking than him... |

Nice finish! point shmoint, battle back and then fold like origami. Yeo is weak, therefore so will this team. |

Don't get me wrong, this isn't the Predators of old, but giving up 44 shots to them at home is pathetic. And once again Yeo's hand-picked "closers" completely fold in overtime. I hate this team so much sometimes |

Acquiring a #1 goalie is going to be an enormous challenge for Fletcher. Unfortunately, he has been as successful at that as he has with his coaching hires |

If anyone has an actual pic of the puck across the line, please post it. If you are referring to the overhead look, you cannot tell where Roy gloved the puck from. It could have been sitting on the line for all we know. Also, if Roy just picked up the puck and took it to the bench...then what?

I just don't think it's going to happen. The Wild have what they have and I think they will just have to work through it. The guys that are probably available are either questionable #1's, like Reimer in Toronto, or guys with bad contracts. Any deal that Fletcher makes for a goalie would likely mean Kuemper goes the other way. And I'm not sure they would be ready to give up on him yet.
It may be time to just start Backstrom a lot more. Kuemper appears to lack focus. He can't keep getting starts and getting yanked. They need to do something to get his focus back and maybe reducing his playing time will do it. I'm not sure there's anything else they can do. |

I don't even agree with the call but the puck was clearly picked from underneath Rinne's pad at least 6 inches behind the goal line when he pulled it out. It's clearly a judgement call by the refs, but I agree that unless there is conclusive evidence (to steal a term from NFL replay) I don't think they can award a goal and there was never any visual evidence that the puck crossed the line before the whistle.
It did cross the line though at some point, that much was evident. |
