Stafford playing with Crosby would be very interesting. I'd assume he'd pick up his game with Crosby feeding him pucks but the real question is how much better he'd be alongside him. There's a good chance a team will overpay for him in FA this Summer if he hits it.

You're not going to get young players of that caliber for an UFA. No chance. The choice he has is to trade young, high pedigree players for like kind players. A good old hockey trade.

Still leading the East after all of the injury issues is not the time to make dumb trades.

Stafford would be interesting on Sid's wing, but suggesting the deal would need either Harrington, who's been playing very well with Letang as a 21 year old, or Despres who's looking like solid top-4 D is laughable.. especially with Stafford's cap hit. I think Dumoulin with a 3rd would be alright or atleast a solid starting point

Wouldn't trade Harrington or Despres for any of the forwards on Buffalo short of Girgensons sorry. Its been this way for most of December. Not first time Hornqvist has been out. Bennett will be back soon. Pens can stay course. Pens don't have to finish first in East.

Dumoulin is even overpayment for an enigmatic rental, and they honestly don't need right wingers, they need a left winger. Horny won't be out long, and Comeau has played great with Malkin. They need a LW for Malkin or a 3rd line center if the long term plan is to keep Sutter with Malkin.

At what price Stafford?

The Pens would have to trade away one of two highly touted D prospects Simon Despres or Scott Harrington, plus a draft pick.

Stafford isn't a bad choice. if he's not available, i have an old pair of underwear that you could offer.
