I agree with the Grades. From the games I watch its not hard to see the goaltending has been a Fail. Should have let Bryz get settled last year and started this season as 1A with Bullpoop Ben as 1B.

Just IMO.

they asked Draisaitl if he wanted to go, he said no. I don't understand how this isn't common knowledge....

there are way too many A's and B's for one of the worst teams in the league.
this is exactly what management has been doing... giving people passing grades while piling the blame onto someone else.

I believe MacT was influencing the trade for Draisaitl to Kelowna so his time in the WHL will be impactful.

Kelowna Rockets are loaded now, I wonder if Draisati will be on the line with the Sharks bad ass prospect Chartier.

You guys definitely need to do something with Yakupov.

Trade him or find a way to make him produce.

You don't draft a pure goal scorer first overall to play him with AHL players on the third line...

Except the guys that received the top grades are the guys that have played incredibly well. Just because the team results have been comparable to F-------, doesn't mean that the guys that have worked and performed the hardest have failing grades.

Most oilers fans would agree he should have been sent down sooner, however the issue appeared to be that the situation he would have been going back to in Prince Albert, wasn't conducive to his development. This is evidenced by the team firing their head coach already, and currently selling off their good players (morrisey, drai etc). it burns a year of ELC, but doesn't accrue towards UFA so i am ok with the decision. Now that he is back down and has been traded to kelowna he will thrive and should have a very deep playoff run. He had a goal and assist in his first game last night and was the first star

World juniors is a whole other thing. the general consensus is that the oilers were willing to send him to the world juniors but he preferred to stay in the NHL (and collect his NHL check) knowing that the plan was to send him down after the juniors. Would sending him to the tournament to play on a team likely facing relegation have benefitted him that much? im indifferent to that decision and believe it ultimately came down to Drai's decision

Yak is another player that hasn't really been put in an opportunity to succeed, especially under eakins. that being said nelson hasn't really increased his ice time or given him better linemates so it may be a mgmt decision. His ELC is up this offseason so one benefit may be spacing out contracts, but who knows what it does to a fragile psyche of a young player

Get ready for the Yak bust and KHL comments even though KHL teams are folding and not playing players, and that threat is all but dead.

What would you do with Yak? You cant explore a trade because right now his value is low, and the ROI would not be worth it.

His 9 points in 23 games would have been on pace for 32 whole points in 82 games and he lost several weeks to injury. Now he’s on pace for 25 points. That isn’t even close to what’s necessary from a 2LW. The C is generous.

His best season last year got him 36 points, now he is slightly below his career rate of 0.42 ppg and in the prime of his career... Why is this surprising?

You should hope Chartier gets that kind of special treatment. Maybe Draisaitl can make him into something

8 people with B's. 2 aren't Oilers anymore, 2 have had less than 5 games with the team, 1 is Petry and he could be moved at the deadline, and 1 is Fayne who I said has a good chance to drop now that his role has increased.
